It’s been a long time since those Lane Kiffin rumors have fired up fans across the country. Now, people seem to be at their wits’ end as they try to predict what the Ole Miss HC will actually do with his future. But based on his rapport with the AD, Kiffin might be silently making a statement.

Everyone in college football wants Lane Kiffin. But Ole Miss wants him more. Kiffin and the Rebels seem to be tight with each other. Moreover, he and AD Keith Carter seem to be pretty strong outside of the gridiron, too. Pat McAfee knows that 6 am yoga is non-negotiable for the HC. Kiffin confirmed this and even added that Carter participated in a yoga class that morning. When a bond between an AD and his coach is that comfortable, it doesn’t seem likely that the latter is leaving. There’s more about this weird side story.

Lane Kiffin is a dedicated hot yoga participant every day. But he only recently introduced Carter to the activity. This was smack dab in the middle of those poaching rumors, when Ole Miss was going to play Georgia. Kiffin told the Clarion-Ledger that the AD went in for his first hot yoga session before that game. But Kiffin, in his usual Lane Kiffin self, took the opportunity to pull Carter’s leg.
“[Now] he says he’s not going anymore because we lost to Georgia.” he told the publication. Though the air outside Oxford is charged with energy, the dynamic between the Carter and Kiffin seems to be on really good terms. The Rebels HC has stalwartly refused to give in to any of these rumors all this time. Instead, he has repeatedly spoken about how great things are at Ole Miss under his leadership.
According to that rumor, Lane Kiffin was supposedly given the deadline of the Egg Bowl game, i.e. November 28, to sign the extension contract. The Ole Miss HC, however, couldn’t be bothered by it. “That’s absolutely not true,” he told McAfee. But why did the rumor start?

Lane Kiffin dismisses Egg Bowl ultimatum talk
This whisper picked up in volume in the light of Kiffin’s family members visiting LSU and Florida. The HC was not part of this visit, as his focus was with the team. So he aptly put his foot down on the whole situation and squashed any such rumors. “I love it here. We’re having blast. It just couldn’t be better. You pray for things. Our fans prayed for this type of thing, now we’re in the middle of it, so enjoy it,” he added.

Kiffin also said that he’s looking forward to the Egg Bowl clash against Mississippi State. He aimed to “dominate” that game, and he wants to “keep that Egg Bowl trophy home, where it’s been for a long time.” That means that Kiffin should remain here till the end of the regular season at least.
One thing is for sure: no matter what Lane Kiffin decides to do in the future, he will always look back at his Ole Miss stint as his best. It’s made him who he is today, and right now, he just wants to take it to the level fans have long dreamed of. The longer Kiffin stays at Oxford, the happier they’ll be.
