One loud Vaught-Hemingway Stadium awaits Lane Kiffin this Saturday. “Lane Kiffin Bowl,” they call it now. After weeks of back and forth on social media, expect desperate Florida fans to fill Section 1 with Gator Chomps, not only for the team, but to lure in a new head coach. Ole Miss faithfuls, on the other hand, have their own agenda to uphold.

After their win over Oklahoma in Week 9, Kiffin’s contract triggered a contract extension through December 31, 2031. But the head coach hasn’t made things official, meaning that, alongside Florida fans, the home crowd will be cheering to sway Kiffin their way. But looks like they have nothing to worry about, at least for now.
“I don’t read all the stuff,” Kiffin said, addressing the online feud between the two fandoms. “Somebody was just saying that today, one of our student assistants explained to me, the fans are going back and forth. And they said, ‘I think there’s a new rivalry Ole Miss fans and Florida fans, and they should just put a steel cage somewhere and let them fight it out.'”

In another conference on Monday, he’d reaffirm: “I don’t think it’s that big a deal,” when asked about the rumors and the distractions.
Since Billy Napier’s firing last month, Kiffin has been linked to the opening by all accounts. Analysts like Paul Finebaum have predicted Florida to be his next stop, while Kalshi gives him a 56% chance of making the move. Between Ole Miss’s 9-1 season and Florida on the brink of missing out bowl for the second time in three seasons, the Gators fans are ready to have him in Gainesville. The Rebels, though, aren’t prepared to let go for the very similar reasons.

During his tenure, Ole Miss is 53-19 overall, while 9-1 this season means that the Rebels could secure their first playoff berth in school history. Naturally, the social media battles have been glaring.
Just this weekend, Kiffin reposted an article by On3 about Florida benching their starting QB, DJ Lagway, against Kentucky. While the Gators faithful argued it was Kiffin hinting at his interest in the program, the Rebels believed their HC was eyeing Lagway in the transfer portal.
It further doesn’t help that Kiffin has ties to Florida– he coached at Florida Atlantic from 2017 to 2019 and has been a longtime admirer of Steve Spurrier. But the coach is choosing not to give out a concrete response regarding his plans just yet.

Last month, the most the Rebels faithful got was Kiffin saying, “I just told them, ‘Hey, this happens every year here. So this isn’t new, but a lot of you guys are new.’ So all it is a credit to the program and the coaches and players for doing well and having the success we have.”
But for Ole Miss’s wishful thinking, let’s not forget Kiffin already started a life at Oxford with his wife and youngest child, Knox.
For now, Kiffin’s primary focus remains on winning against Florida and Mississippi State, as even one loss can put him out of the playoffs like last season. The Florida Gators handed Ole Miss a 24-17 loss, after which they not only missed the playoffs but also had to settle for a much smaller bowl game, the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl.

Jaxson Dart ties draws Lane Kiffin NFL buzz
As the New York Giants’ season takes another frustrating turn with a 2-7 record, the third-year head coach Brian Daboll’s job appears to be in serious doubt. There are rumors that Lane Kiffin might be offered the job, making him a perfect, ready-made replacement.

Amid the speculation, Jaxson Dart’s father, Brandon Dart, revealed he got in contact with Kiffin about the possible chatter on the Bleav in Ole Miss podcast. “I think [New York radio host] Boomer Esiason had said something in the media today that maybe they should throw out a potential coaching offer to Kiffin, and he just sent it over with a smirk and just said, ‘It’s too cold in New York for me.’ It’s just kind of funny.”
Well, looking at Dart’s potential, totalling 17 TDs across seven starts while battling through key teammates’ injuries, this reunion would have turned so many heads. Even Brandon Dart talked about their relationship with Kiffin and how deep and solid it is. “But we have our weekly interactions with him and his family, and Jaxson holds high regard. I think Kiffin is one of his most trusted allies, and I think he uses him for advice in a lot of different ways,” he said.
