No one turns up the heat better than Lane Kiffin. Last season he gave it back to the playoff committee after they ruled out Ole Miss from the championship run. Kiffin made sarcastic tweets after Indiana’s loss: “Really exciting competitive game @CFBPlayoff. Great job!” Kiffin also mocked Hugh Freeze for his fishing getaway despite facing recruiting struggles with their 2026 class. But he took this to a different level after winning against LSU. He’s not just trolling Brian Kelly but also his own daughter, Landry’s boyfriend, Whit Weeks. It’s pretty clear Kiffin reserves no special treatment for anyone when it comes to his team.

After missing the playoffs in recent year, this season the Rebels look different, and their win against LSU proves it. That’s exactly why Kiffin’s making sure no one underestimates them, even if it comes to his family. Now, back in 2023, when Grace Vest asked Whit Weeks, “Who would you like to beat this year?” Weeks gave a blunt response to it, saying, “Ole Miss, no doubt, 100%.”

That wasn’t meant to be as Ole Miss won that battle 55-49. And this year? It’s another win with 24-19. After the win, this video was shared again on social media. But this time, by LSU fan pages to troll Weeks. Lane Kiffin made sure that he gave his subtle reaction to it as he commented on the post with a simple laughing emoji that held a lot of sarcasm. And it’s not like this is the only remark he made towards Weeks after the game. Ever since Landry made their relationship public, it’s like dissing Weeks became another regular thing for Kiffin.

After the game, Kiffin made a funny comment saying, “I’m looking for Whit right now to see if we covered the over.” The reference might be around some betting odds, but the indications are pretty clear. And even LSU’s offense made sure Ole Miss cover’s the over, as they didn’t score much. The worst part is they couldn’t score more than 23 points against an FBS team in 2025. Despite that, Weeks tried helping his team by recovering a fumble in Ole Miss’ red zone.

The worst part is despite Rebel’s two turnovers and 14 penalties, LSU couldn’t take advantage of it, and their defense was still allowing big plays. But it was a tough game for Whit Weeks too. First, he hurt his hand or wrist while making a tackle in the second quarter, and then he was also seen throwing up on the sidelines in the first quarter. Even after facing it all, he went back on the field and stood tall, backing his team until a late fourth-quarter injury pushed him out of the game. Now, if Brian Kelly really needs a boost on his defense, keeping Weeks healthy should be their top priority.

Lane Kiffin drops subtle praise for Paul Finebaum after LSU win

Everyone knows the stakes are pretty high when LSU and Ole Miss are going up against each other. Since December 3, 1894, both teams have faced each other over a 100 times. Ole Miss has a losing record to LSU with 39 wins, 65 losses, and 3 ties.

So how can Lane Kiffin leave a single chance of giving it back to Brian Kelly and team? His move? Taking the rivalry straight to X, rehashing Kelly’s pregame words: “We’re looking forward to it. We’re going to keep that Magnolia Trophy right here in Baton Rouge, right where it deserves to be, and our guys are excited for the opportunity.” So, it’s not just Weeks. Even Brian Kelly couldn’t save his fate.

But he’s not just out for trolls. Kiffin is sending his love for Paul Finebaum, as he was the only one on SEC Nation who picked Ole Miss to win against LSU despite almost all betting sites giving an edge to the Tigers. “I see you, Paul,” Kiffin said. “Great day in the state.” Well, Finebaum knew what he was betting on. And Kiffin’s QB, Trinidad Chambliss, made sure it happened. As he balled out, throwing for 314 yards with a TD. Even RBs Kewan Lacy and Logan Diggs added to it and helped them to outgain LSU with 480 total yards against their 254. Now, the Rebels stand firm atop the SEC table with a 5-0 record and they are ready to continue their dominance against Washington State next week.
