Let’s admit it. Lee Corso has excellent insight and intuition. 6-1 in his prediction this season, 280-140 in his role as ESPN’s College GameDay analyst since its inception in 1987! But the scar this season came in his prediction of a top-five matchup in Week 8. No. 1 Texas vs No. 5 Georgia, where his favorite Longhorns fell to their SEC opponent in a 30-15 defeat. And the interesting thing about Week 10 is that it could be a repeat of the Week 8 prediction.

ESPN’s College GameDay is traveling to Pennsylvania after two years for the top matchup of the week between two giant Big Ten rivals. No. 4 Ohio State and No. 3 Penn State. Who are the favorites to win?

The highly anticipated game will take place at Beaver Stadium, where Lee Corso will make his 421st headgear choice. The 6-1 Buckeyes enter the game with the 7-0 Nittany Lions in what would be a Big Ten Championship and CFP determiner. This will be the second time that Ohio State appeared on College GameDay after the Week 7 game against Oregon.

What would his pick be? Some say Ohio State could be the pick given that he’s picked the Buckeyes more than any other team. With OSU, he had a record 42 headgear selections. People are even going to the extent that if he picks Penn State, it would be a repeat of the Week 8 top 5 matchup prediction blunder. They could be right. Or wrong. It’s such a competitive matchup, and it’s no wonder Corso is in the middle of this dilemma.

Ohio State predicted to beat Penn State

After meeting for the first time in 1993, Ohio State holds the upper edge in the rivalry series with the longest seven-game winning streak. But this season, Ryan Day and his program already have a scar against Oregon so a loss against Penn State would also be a big blow to their conference title hopes. Meanwhile, the Nittany Lions are one of the few undefeated teams under HC James Franklin after their last 28-13 win against Wisconsin. Still, it’s noteworthy to consider their performances in the games played.

Ohio State overplayed their opponents by an average of 28.4 points compared to Penn State’s 19 points. Both teams have close edges but the Buckeyes managed to come out as a 4-point favorite over the Nittany Lions. But in college football, there are plenty of chances for a major game to turn for an unexpected outcome. What are your thoughts on this marquee Big Ten matchup
