Every college football player dreams of being one of the lucky 1.6% who make it to the NFL draft, but very few of them are ready to vest all that it calls for. And Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders’ is one such. But it turns out, despite all the hype surrounding him, the community is still not convinced that he is widely ready to grace the recently rumored Browns’ locker room when the NFL selection looms. They dragged the program’s failed investment, DeShaun Watson, to draw a parallel to the potential future of the current Buffs star if they sign him.
DeShaun Watson, 29, has been dipping quite a low since he cemented his spot in the program with a $230 million. The most sought-after NFL draft pick abruptly turned into a below-average player, and the team didn’t look the same. While there can be a plethora of reasons behind his chaotic deliveries on the field, former Browns GM noted it was the lure of the big money check that keeps him idle mentally. He doesn’t feel the need to prove his mettle as long as the money continues to flow. ”Sometimes, he goes to the sideline, he’s got that towel over his head, and he’s checking his Bank of America account to make sure he’s still filthy rich,” said former general manager Michael Lombardi highlighting a not-so-inspiring trait of the infamous 23-year-old.
I promise you the moment Cleveland is freed from Deshaun Watson prison, we will look forward.

Watson has also been dealing with more serious legal troubles regarding the se-ual harassment charges. Although he reportedly settled the lawsuit in a confidential deal, the attention span understandably remains divided between the field and the court, hence affecting his performance even more. Now, out of nowhere, it begs the question: will the program go for a new QB to even be their first? That’s where Shedeur Sanders comes in!
Buffs’ quarterback Shedeur is one of the most bona fide players in college football, but his recent performance against Kansas State might leave you in a little doubt. He threw for 388 yards with three touchdowns and one interception while getting sacked twice. In the recent NFL mock draft on SI, he rose to the rank of the most exciting player for the Cleveland Browns in the 2025 class. He was projected as the sixth overall pick. But, for now, fans couldn’t see him in Brown’s locker room.

Here’s what they had to say.
CFB fans bashed the potential Browns signing of Shedeur Sanders
Shedeur Sanders is undeniably a talented player and could be a top draft pick next year. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns are having a rough season with a 1-5 record and are rumored to be eyeing the Buffs’ QB with the No. 2 overall pick. However, as one of the standout quarterback prospects in this year’s draft, some fans believe that his dad, Deion Sanders, might step in to prevent him from entering what could be a challenging situation with the Browns. ”Deion will never let Shedeur play for the Browns,” said a fan.

What’s your perspective on:
Is Shedeur Sanders the next big thing or just another potential Browns' disappointment waiting to happen?
Have an interesting take?
Technically, Shedeur can’t land with a team of his choice unless he pulls an Eli. Well, Deion Sanders refused to drop any professional comment on the most sought-after subject so far. But from a father’s perspective, he noted he can’t dictate where his son ends up as it’s all part of a draft process, but he doesn’t want the common stagnant basement phase in the NFL for his son. Regardless, when it comes to the Browns, fans straightaway rejected the idea of joining the locker room. ”I’m not going from one headache at QB to another. No thanks to Sanders, I will take Ward or Ewers,” one of them gave away his honest take. Well, both Cam Ward and Quinn Ewers are leading their teams to an undefeated season so far. With their soaring draft stocks, they could both be potential top-5 picks in the upcoming draft too.
Meanwhile, the hate streak for Shedeur continued as one wrote, ‘‘Yes. I am looking forward to looking forward. But IMO, please not Shedeur. Never. Ever.” Sanders is trending toward being a top-five pick, and the top quarterback off the board, at the NFL draft. But locker room politics is for real and the future will be in a serious jeopardy. Exposing another side of the young phenom, one fan wrote, ”Shedeur will be a locker room cancer worse than Johnny Football.” Now, what’s your take on fans lambasting Shedeur?
