Missouri hasn’t seen a quarterback make such an immediate impact since Chase Daniel’s days. However, Beau Pribula is making his case to change that narrative this season. A guy who couldn’t find a firm footing at BYU backing Drew Allar is now turning heads in Missouri by surpassing Allar’s performance. So, for the Tigers, Pribula is the guy. But does his heart lie with the Tigers?

Beau Pribula showed what he’s capable of this season, throwing for 1,203 yards with nine touchdowns and just three picks. He also recorded an SEC-best passing percentage by completing 75.9% of his passes. That’s precisely why they could go up against teams like South Carolina. Concerns about staying for one more year with the Tigers were looming, but it looks like he’s putting those questions to bed.
As Missouri Insider Michael Stamps hits X, quoting Pribula’s words: “For anyone curious, #Mizzou QB Beau Pribula was asked by Jon Gruden whether he plans to play another year at Missouri. His answer: “Yep. I’d say so.” Missing out on a player like Beau Pribula will be a massive hit for them.

This guy is not just an exceptional talent but a quarterback with a 77.6 quarterback rating, as per ESPN, which is the 19th best nationally. And his rushing ability? That’s also making noise as Pribula passed for 1203 yards on 145 attempts and even recorded nine touchdowns with 8.3 yards per pass attempt.

Even Eliah Drinkwitz didn’t mince words before praising his QB. “Been really proud of the way Beau’s attacking being the quarterback here,” Drinkwitz said. “That dude has done a really good job creating space, taking space when he needs to, and creating (plays) with his legs.” This success is James Franklin’s biggest regret, as Drew Allar’s inconsistency makes things worse for them. Losing back-to-back games against Oregon and UCLA pushed their playoff hopes straight into the drain.
Coming into this season, Drew Allar threw for 963 yards with 8 TDs and two interceptions; even his passing efficiency is 64.7% this season. So, now you know why losing a guy like Pribula is an enormous blow for Penn State. What worked as the last nail in the coffin for them is their 0-4 loss against UCLA, where Allar threw for 200 yards with two touchdowns, but his inconsistency came in when he failed on a crucial fourth-down play. It subsequently ended the game for them.
All these add up to one conclusion: Allar’s inconsistency is becoming a major conundrum for Penn State, and Beau Pribula’s domination run adds to the regret even more. But a strict schedule is waiting for Missouri, and let’s see if this success continues even then for Pribula.
No easy road ahead for Beau Pribula and the Tigers
Look, there’s no doubt that Beau Pribula is emerging as one of the most dominant quarterbacks this season. But we should remember that they achieved those scores against less competitive teams. Now, according to ESPN, in seven of their remaining games, they will have to face top SEC opponents, the seventh toughest in the nation.

Going against teams like Alabama, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Arkansas will not be straightforward. MS State might be a walk in the park with all due respect, but apart from them, the rest are all coming up to win the grand prize. Their biggest test comes up against Alabama this week, and even Drinkwitz knows it, as he said, “Alabama is a really, really good football team and a very difficult test for us.”
Now, Bama has four games, and they are undefeated in the SEC, but even they have faced the third-hardest schedule in the country. Let’s wait and see which team comes up strong against the other.
