Hugh Freeze was disappointed after the loss against Georgia Bulldogs.

“I have no clue. I think this is…,” stopped Hugh Freeze after watching his team lose by a 10-point deficit. Kirby Smart’s team might look like national contenders, but their run wasn’t straightforward. Following a heartbreaking defeat by Alabama, securing a victory over Auburn was crucial for the team. But his false timeout gesture turned fans into fury in the fourth quarter. Even Hugh Freeze couldn’t hold back his frustration over the entire debacle.

Georgia was leading Auburn 7-0 in the fourth quarter. But with just 13 minutes left in the game, Kirby Smart ran towards the referee, who looked like he was signaling a timeout. Later, he confessed to not doing anything malicious and never intending to pull the plug on the play. It was when Georgia was in a three-and-nine situation, losing by three points. Everyone bashed Smart for the move, and even referee bias stole the limelight.
Even though Kirby Smart denied any foul play, Hugh Freeze isn’t letting it go easily. Auburn’s insider Justin Hokanson hits X, quoting Freeze’s words: “Hugh Freeze says he was “on the phone quite a bit” this weekend, having conversations with Greg Sankey and the SEC director of officials. I expressed how I felt and they listened. It’s hurting our football team and it’s hurt, in my opinion, our record.”

Fun Fact:
The head official from the UGA vs AU game on saturday Ken Williamson is a part time SEC official, a full time realtor, who is a realtor in and is from Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
You can’t make this stuff up folks😂

The SEC made no official comment on the situation. However, the crew officials have vast experience, as Ken Williamson worked in the 2021 SEC championship and Walt Hill officiated in the 2022 SEC championship. Whether it’s SEC bias or a referee’s erroneous call, that timeout did little to help the Bulldogs.

Now, Auburn Central hits X with another set of details about the referee being associated with the SEC, saying, “Fun Fact: The head official from the UGA vs. AU game on Saturday, Ken Williamson, is a part-time SEC official and a full-time realtor who is a realtor in and is from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. You can’t make this stuff up, folks. 😂”
Georgia was penalized for a blindside block that returned the ball to Auburn’s 38-yard line. Then, after gaining a few yards on third down, kicker Peyton Woodring missed a 45-yard field goal, which ended up messing things up for them even more. In the end, Georgia ended up not using their timeouts at all.
That’s what even Kirby Smart tried explaining. “I ran over to him and said, ‘They’re clapping. They’re clapping.’ And he thought I called a timeout,” Smart said. “And so I wanted to make sure he understood. No lip-reading. I’m screaming, ‘They’re clapping. They’re clapping.’ I didn’t need a timeout because we were going to get it off before the shot clock.”
Well, it’s not just Freeze trying to get back to the SEC for this; even fans can’t let this pass.

Referees in the hot seat as fans voice displeasure
The fans turned back and forth when Georgia won over Auburn last week. Despite the win, fans showed frustration over the timeout call, and Kirby Smart was left only with explanations. After the referee’s ties with the SEC, the situation became weirder, as a fan stated it clearly: “Clearly Clapping.” It doesn’t just stop there; fans also sign a petition to investigate Williamson.
Other fanatics have now come up with new information stating, “He’s from Tampa; you’re looking at the wrong Ken Williamson.” This revelation shows his ties to the SEC and Tampa, showcasing the fans’ doubts about the incident. Then why is Alabama’s name popping up? Look, Auburn missed many opportunities because of horrific officiating, and this time, they might have a case for concern.
Just look at this fan who’s straight away coming on Georgia and SEC teams’ championship win, making a sarcastic jab at them: “Just claim the win like you guys do national titles.” So, for the past two years, it’s been the Big 10 claiming the national title, but the SEC’s dominance is uncanny, and so are their officials, according to some college football fans. Moreover, hardcore football buffs can’t make peace with it. This fan took a different route, pointing out why Bama’s getting involved in the entire mess. “Always gotta find a way to blame Bama. 😅😅”
But here comes this fan who sums it all up perfectly, stating how the entire timeout mess didn’t help Kirby Smart and his team. “That gives Georgia zero advantage?” a fan added. Making such moves in a game means they should give you an advantage, but in this case, there’s nothing concrete a team can do. Let’s wait and see how their game turns out against Ole Miss next week.
