Is this some sort of karma? Coming off of the Bulldogs high, the Tide is standing on top of the AP polls. What Kalen DeBoer managed to pull against the Dawgs is something no Bama could’ve imagined. The team dismantled the entire Georgia defense, and Kalen DeBoer took it home with a 41-34 win. But what is going on right now? What happened to the Bama defense that we saw during the Bulldogs game?

That’s the same question Kristen Saban was forced to ask on her Instagram story. “Hey Defense, WHATCHA DOING????” Kristen wrote in her story that she bore a disappointed look while watching the Tide vs Commodores game. Kalen DeBoer and Co. are standing on a 20-7 score run. With the Dores pulling in 2 touchdowns in the first quarter and 1 more in the second quarter, it looks like Bama’s defense is having a hard time keeping up.

To think that Vanderbilt’s offensive line has managed to push Alabama to the edge is wild. This feels like a repeat of the SF game. Even then, DeBoer and his boys were tested, and the Tide managed to win a close game.

While the scoreboard did have 42-16, the Bulls offense also managed to give Bama quite the fright. The defense wasn’t bad either. QB Jalen Milroe barely had any room to make plays and Alabama only turned things around in the 4th quarter with back-to-back touchdowns.
Coming back to the Dores game, could this be the end of DeBoer’s 4-0 run? While it is only the 2nd quarter, we cannot say anything for sure, but we can pinpoint one issue with the Bama defense.

A questionable defense
Just a few hours back, we had covered that Bama was losing out on one of their key players going into the Vanderbilt game. Tony Tsoukalas had taken to X to share that Linebacker Justine Jefferson was marked as a “game-time decision” for the Dores game.

Jefferson was reported to be struggling because of his undisclosed injury and the possibility of him being on the defensive line was low. This is a major blow to Bama’s defense because DC Kane Wommack had noted that Jefferson was one of the key players around whom the defense was created.
With 23-7 on the scoreboard, what do you think would happen to the Tide? Can Kalen DeBoer and Co. manage to turn things around? Do let us know what you think.
