Nick Saban is well-settled in his role as a sports commentator now after being a legend of the coaching world for almost 23 years. It is now time for him to sit back and watch the football glide through the air without a care in the world for the national championship trophy case or the legacy that he had to stand on. Saban announced his retirement from the Alabama Crimson Tide in January and went on to join ESPN and the ‘College GameDay’ team in February. The program has brightened ever since Saban arrived and it looks like his ‘College GameDay’ family is getting more welcoming of him as well. Recently, Pat McAfee was welcomed into the Saban house, and he was left astonished by the sheer deliciousness of the meatballs that Miss Terry cooked, making it evident that Saban is mixing his work and personal life now, which indicates a sign of his comfort level.

The fans have witnessed a much more intricate side of Saban ever since he joined ESPN as an analyst. While they’ve been used to seeing Saban as an angry, yelling coach, they now get to see him being a critic of the sport and goofing off as much as he can. Moreover, Pat McAfee and Saban share quite a dynamic, and it looks like the former Alabama HC took their relationship to a new level by inviting him to dinner.

On one of the recent episodes of ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’, Pat McAfee was seen talking about attending dinner at the Saban’s the previous night. As per a recent statement from McAfee, he praised Miss Terry’s meatballs with great admiration and remarked, “Greatest meatballs I’ve had in a long time.”

The relationship between Saban and McAfee is a similar one as compared to the former coach and his wild players, and just like his players, Nick Saban is keeping McAfee close to his family and this dinner might just be the start of a whole another friendship. That being said, he’s still getting used to the unserious moments that come with the job of being in the entertainment industry. One such moment came when Pat McAfee was seen dancing in a viral moment while Nick Saban looked awkward, not knowing what to do.

In one segment of the show, McAfee was seen dancing in his seat and snapping his fingers to the loud music whereas Nick Saban was trying not to meet his fellow host’s eyes. A fan under the comments wrote, “Saban looks like the designated driver at a club while Pat had a few too many Tequila Sunrises or Vodka Cranberries.” The 7-time national champion is getting used to a climate where there isn’t a lot of yelling but rather jokes and messing around, which is definitely going to be a drastic transition for the coach who’s been on the sidelines for over 20 years.
