Ty Simpson has been on fire. His performances against Louisiana-Monroe and in the first half against Wisconsin turned heads across the country. Georgia HC Kirby Smart even called him “the hottest quarterback in the country” ahead of Saturday’s matchup, adding, “I mean, Ty’s different than [Jalen] Milroe… there’s a difference in that.” But Simpson isn’t just making waves on the field. Off it, his momentum continues to grow. He won the QB1 spot in training camp and quickly capitalized, signing his first NIL deal with Hugo Boss. And now, the 22 YO QB announced on IG a partnership with one of the world’s most popular sports drinks.

Back in 2022, Shedeur Sanders, then QB at Jackson State, signed an NIL deal with Gatorade. That partnership carried over to CU and continued as he prepared for the NFL. In fact, ahead of the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Gatorade even released a tribute celebrating Sanders’ journey. Then DJ Lagway followed a similar path, securing major deals, including a Gatorade partnership, pushing his NIL valuation to $2.2 M. Now, Ty Simpson appears to be walking in their footsteps. But Hugo Boss and Gatorade aren’t the only brands contributing to Simpson’s $948K NIL valuation.
Ty Simpson has been stacking major NIL deals. Represented by QB Reps’ Nick Schultz, he’s partnered with Panini, EA Sports, Hollister, Raising Cane’s, and Topps. But that’s not all. He also joined Alabama’s Yea Alabama collective through the Crimson Tide Outdoors program. Then he signed an Amazon deal during a March Madness promotion in 2024. And last July, a full year before becoming QB1, he also inked a multi-year deal with Harbin Automotive in Scottsboro. So Simpson is quickly becoming one of CFB’s top NIL stars. Now, the star QB gears up for the showdown against his fiercest rival.

After a Week 4 bye, Alabama is fired up for a massive clash with Georgia. Although Ty Simpson stole the spotlight last game, carving up Wisconsin for 382 passing yards and adding 25 on the ground in a 38-14 rout at Bryant-Denny Stadium. But the QB knows the Bulldogs won’t be easy. Still, he’s ready to take the field and make it count.
Inside Ty Simpson’s prep for facing Georgia
The Crimson Tide are looking to make a statement, while undefeated Georgia carries the aura of a CFP contender. And for Simpson, it’s his first SEC road game as a starter, so the stakes couldn’t be higher. But what gives Simpson a unique edge?
Look, Kirby Smart runs a defense modeled after Nick Saban’s scheme. And interestingly, Simpson spent his first 2 years at Bama as the scout team QB under Saban. That experience gives him an inside look few QBs have. “I’ve been going against coach Saban’s defense for two years, and literally, I feel like I’ve seen everything in the book from that guy,” said Simpson. Still, Simpson knows Smart adds his own twists, along with co-DCs Travaris Robinson andGlenn Schumann.

“A lot of respect to those guys. They throw their own twist on everything. So, I just need to be ready, understand my rules, and just don’t make it too big. Just keep it simple, and just play my game,” he said. Now, with Georgia coming off a bye week and Alabama listed as a 3.5-point underdog, Simpson knows the challenge ahead. And he’s focused on turning his Saban experience into an advantage.
