The Colorado Buffs can’t keep their hands off controversy! And this time, the Buffs fans were left scratching their heads when Cam Newton and Shedeur Sanders had a weird pre-game interaction. Well, this has now fueled to some other level as Newton took shots at Shedeur following their interaction.

It all started when Cam Newton wanted to have a conversation with Shedeur before their game against the Knights, and he denied talking to him, saying, “You know what you did.” Well, if you think this is rude, wait until you hear Shedeur’s side of the story. A few months ago, NFL star player Cam Newton took a jab at Shedeur Sanders, claiming that he is not worthy of being a top-four pick in the 2025 NFL draft. And this might be the reason Shedeur had a weird interaction with Cam during the Buffs’ game day.

Following this, in today’s episode of 4th & 1 With Cam Newton, Cam expressed his opinion on his behavior and also took a NIL shot at Shedeur Sanders, saying, “There’s a lot to hate Cam Newton about, and I think the thing that I’ve been at peace with is like Bro, the day that they allowed NIL to be legal, you’re no longer an amateur anymore. Used to be they could protect the college athlete, but that’s not happening. You’re getting paid; you’re an adult now.” It looks like Cam Newton is not letting Shedeur’s arrogance slide easily.

Shedeur Sanders’ take on the controversy

Cam and Shedeur’s game-day controversy took a pretty nasty turn. However, Shedeur Sanders addressed the entire situation on his podcast, 2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders, where he emphasized that it wasn’t a major issue and shared his thoughts on the matter, saying, “I was just saying what’s up. That’s all that really happened. He said something, personally, I didn’t agree with. We talked about it, and we had a great conversation.” It looks like there is nothing much of a concern on Shedeur’s side.

Moving forward, Shedeur Sanders also mentioned that he is still working in areas where he lacks specifically to let go of his grudges and forgiving people. “I just got to work in areas of my life about forgiving. That’s what Dad teaches me overall.” Shedeur Sanders might’ve gone a bit overboard, but considering Cam Newton’s past comments, his reaction isn’t entirely out of line. He’s even asking Newton for advice, not criticism. With all this drama, his game against Kansas State in a few weeks is gonna be a doozy!
