CFB never fails to surprise us. Now, a non-power college football team is surprising everyone with whom they’re recruiting. A quarterback son of an NFL Hall of Fame veteran is now committed to that very non-power league! His father is an NFL legend, thus he didn’t make the wrong calls, regardless of the reason for his landing. Like other fathers, the quarterback’s dad also shows his excitement for his son’s growth. However, it’s commonly believed that a father never shows you how much he loves you. Instead, he lets you observe. And for that reason, the quarterback’s father took X to show his excitement.
Kurt Warner, the NFL Hall of Fame legend, expressed his joy by reposting his son EJ Warner’s commitment post on January 11. Kurt Warner wrote: “I’m so pumped… It’s Go Time! #GoBulldogs.” It just means that the Hall of Fame football player may soon be inside Valley Children’s Stadium seeing his son play. Junior QB Elijah ‘EJ’ Warner has played at Temple and Rice. And he is still eligible for one more year.
Before moving to Rice in 2024, EJ Warner played for two seasons at Temple, where he began as a true freshman. After throwing for 2,710 yards with 17 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in his first season as a QB starter, EJ led Rice to victory. EJ mentioned the program’s coaching change when he logged into the transfer site at the start of Dec. Yes, head coach Mike Bloomgren left the Owls. As of now, the QB chose Fresno State to pursue his collegiate football career.

But the quarterback’s father has another connection to the Valley: former Bulldog Mike Martz was the OC for his 2000-Super Bowl-winning Rams. It might be one of the things that excites him following his son’s choice. However, EJ Warner steps in for former Bulldog QB1 Mikey Keene, who committed to Michigan after using the transfer portal. Like his son, the father took pleasure in a successful NFL and collegiate quarterbacking career.

And after that, he played for the Iowa Barnstormers in the AFL from 1995 to 1997 before joining the St. Louis Rams in December of that same year.
