Baylor’s Sawyer Robertson is making some serious money moves through NIL deals, with his On3 NIL Valuation currently sitting at an impressive $1.9 million. This high value puts him among the top college football players in the country when it comes to marketability. He’s landed some big-time partnerships, including with major companies like Nike and Bass Pro Shops. The man’s an entrepreneur and has his own clothing line. Best of all, a quarter cut of his NIL pie portion is directly going towards something bigger than football.

On October 28th, the $1.9 million man, Sawyer Robertson, spoke with the media after hitting the practice reps ahead of UCF showdown. Sawyer Robertson announced that he will donate 25% of all his NIL merchandise sales to Mission Waco, a cause he has always wanted to support: “I’ve always wanted to do something like that, and so that opportunity presented itself. So 25% of all like my nil merchandise sales is going to go to that with Mission Waco.”

For context, Mission Waco is a nonprofit organization in Waco, Texas, that helps people in need, especially those who are homeless, vets,  struggling with poverty, or facing other challenges. They run programs like housing, addiction recovery, job training, after-school programs for kids, and community projects to support families and improve neighborhoods. Robertson also shared that he was invited to tour Mission Waco’s facilities, which are currently under construction, and was impressed by the work they are doing.

Robertson is Waco-first man, he’s also been super creative with his NIL deals. In a total game-changer, he became the first college player to partner with both Leaf Trading Cards and Bass Pro Shops for a special trading card, which was a huge hit with fans. To promote it, he even held a meet-and-greet in Waco, getting up close and personal with the community that supports him every Saturday.

Moreover, last season, he surprised his Bears with personalized Yeti coolers paid for out of his own pocket, a genuinely awesome and generous gesture that showed his commitment to team unity. Also on the field, Robertson has been absolutely on fire, especially this season. Through the first seven games, he has been lighting it up for the Bears, tossing for over 2,376 yards and 21 touchdowns.

All due respect, that’s Heisman-radar number. Also shout-out to his epic 440-yard performance against rival SMU that had everyone talking. His stellar play has earned him national attention and has been a major driver for all his off-field success.

William V. Campbell nominee: Sawyer Robertson

Earlier this month, Sawyer Robertson has been named a finalist for the 2025 William V. Campbell Trophy, which is like the top award for college football scholar-athletes. Simply put, the award recognizes players who excel in academics, football, and also the leadership. The good news is that everybody would be getting runner-up like money for getting nominated. Each of the 16 finalists will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as part of the 2025 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class.

The 16 finalists are chosen from 180 semifinalists across all NCAA divisions and the NAIA. They will travel to Las Vegas for the 67th NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Dec. 9, where their achievements will be celebrated. During the event, one finalist will be named the winner of the Campbell Trophy and get the post-graduate scholarship of 25k.

To be eligible for the award, candidates must be in their final year of eligibility or have already earned a degree, maintain a GPA of at least 3.2, perform at a high level in football, and show strong leadership and citizenship.

Robertson’s on track to graduate this December with a marketing degree and has a 3.73 GPA. The man also bagged a couple of awards like academic honors, including Academic All-District Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll, and few more. Robertson is the fifth Baylor player to be named an NFF National Scholar-Athlete and the first since 2015.
