College Game Day has everything for an everyday fan! Analysis, predictions, and a dose of humor. The yin and yang of the show, Nick Saban and Pat McAfee, have been contributing the most when it comes to the latter. During Week 3’s show, the duo disagreed on the result of the matchup between the Aggies and the Fighting Irish. The former Bama coach predicted the home side would win, and usually, we see Pat McAfee agreeing with GOAT’s takes. Not this time.

Pat took a chance and challenged Saban. “Okay, I got the field, and you’ve got Notre Dame. I need one of your Ferraris or Mercedes-Benzes.” Well, we all know what happened next: Notre Dame lost to the Aggies 40-41, with a last-minute touchdown from Marcel Reed to Nate Boerkircher. The team that played in the national championship game in January couldn’t defend their home field. Naturally, Pat remembered the bet, and he waited for Week 4. On today’s show, Pat demanded a $540K gift from Nick Saban when the interim Michigan head coach, Biff Poggi, joined the hosts to discuss their Nebraska clash.

Biff Poggi made a virtual appearance on College Game Day, where McAfee said that both he and Poggi were owed something from the GOAT, Nick Saban. He asked Poggi about his history with Saban, ensuring that this is the right time to publicly pressure Saban. Michigan’s HC took them to the time when Saban grabbed a Ferrari dealership in Nashville. The former tried to buy a Ferrari Superfast from his dealership but never did.

“Well, I know everyone genuflects to the greatest college football coach ever, but not me,” Biff Poggi said. “And I will tell you that we’ve been friends for a long time. I don’t know, he called me like 5 or 6 years ago. And he goes, ‘Hey, guess what? I have been chosen for the Ferrari dealership.’ I’ve said, ‘Oh man, congratulations. Let me be the first guy to buy a car from you. I’ll buy the coolest car they make, the 812 Superfast.’ To which Saban said, ‘Oh, yeah, great, perfect, I’ll have that set up.’ I will have a beard down to my knees before I see that 812 Superfast. He’s driving it.”

The Game Day panel—Pat McAfee, Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, and Desmond Howard—guffawed, hearing the story. Saban gave a hilarious reason: “Hey, here was the problem. When we got right down to the transaction, you had alligator arms. You could not reach into your pocket. You could not get into the pocket.” Poggi responded that he knew he was going to say that and told him to ask the Rolls-Royce dealer, from whom he just bought his car, if he has alligator arms or not.

Pat McAfee can demand Saban’s own car

Since Pat McAfee demanded a Ferrari from Nick Saban, he might go for the $540,000 worth Ferrari’s upcoming supercar—the Ferrari 849 Testarossa. This car carries a 1980s legend’s name. This car comes with 1036 HP, with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 and three electric motors. It has an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, best suited for all-terrain driving. The car is claimed to reach 0 to 60 in just 2.3 seconds, with 16 miles of EV range. It comes with both Coupe and Spider convertible body styles as an option.

If not, McAfee could demand from Nick Saban the car that he currently drives, the red-colored Ferrari Portofino M Class, which costs around $230,000. He has been driving it since 2023, and it is one of his most prized possessions. What are your thoughts on the McAfee-Saban bet? Will Saban hand over the Ferrari keys to McAfee? Will Nick Saban honor his Ferrari bet with Pat McAfee, or is it all just banter?
