You ever watch a man living so good you can practically hear Meek Mill’s iconic verse: “I used to pray for times like this” playing in the background? That’s Dana White right now. From Valet to $ Multi-Billion dollars deal with Paramount. UFC Bossman, Mr White, has done it all. Cigar in hand, million-dollar grin, and a fresh $7.7 billion UFC deal with Paramount inked just days ago. But here’s the kicker — while every UFC and MMA fanboys are still drooling about his plan to stage a once-in-a-lifetime UFC card at the White House, Pat McAfee decided to crash the party with a different play: flipping Dana’s college football loyalty. For half a billion dollars’ worth of swagger, you’d think Dana’s untouchable… but Pat had other ideas.
The $500 million man, Dana’s week started like a scene out of a gangster movie. Miami backdrop. Paramount execs smiling ear to ear. 7 years of guaranteed money. The deal puts every U.S. UFC fight — 13 pay-per-view-style bangers and 30 Fight Nights — on Paramount+, with the big dogs also showing up free on CBS. RIP to Streameast. Then Dana drops a bombshell: next summer, America’s 250th birthday, he wants to run a fight card inside the White House.
An actual fight card with names like Jon Jones (will duck again, shown interest), Conor McGregor (lost cause, shown interest), Tom Aspinall, and Islam Makhachev headlining. You can almost hear Joe Rogan losing his mind already. Pat McAfee, of course, couldn’t let that slide without fishing for a little extra tea on his podcast. “Can you tell me a little bit more information on the White House? Because that’s gonna be on Paramount Plus,” Pat asks, grinning. Dana, puffing on victory air, leans back: “That might be on CBS. Think about that — fight card from the White House live and free on CBS. That could be like biggest numbers of all time.” Translation: he knows he’s about to break the internet and cable TV at the same time.

Then, like only Pat can, he pivoted from octagons to end zones. “Enjoy the U down there,” he says, throwing shade at Miami’s $6 million alleged splurge on quarterback Carson Beck. Dana laughs, spilling that he’s coming back to Miami for Hurricanes season opener and to pledge his loyalty to the U: “I’m coming back here for the Notre Dame for the Notre Dame Miami game. So, I’ll be there for that. I’m gonna be becoming a Miami fan now. I’m a hurricane.” That’s when Pat went full AD mode for his alma mater, West Virginia Football.
Pat McAfee didn’t hold back at all: “Let’s not be giving too much money. They got enough. You should look at maybe the West Virginia Mountaineers. You want to start investing in a college football team? We need you up there in West Virginia. We appreciate you.” Dana White laughed it off. That’s Pat McAfee for you. But here’s the thing — Dana’s got the cash to make it happen. And WVU could literally use Uncle Dana’s help more than Miami.
Their football program pulled $47.3 million in revenue last year, good for just 72% of their entire athletic department’s budget. Ranking 11th or 12th in Big 12. On the flip side, Miami’s football program was flexing financially. Valued at a whopping $604 million, it ranked 24th among Power 4 programs. While we don’t have the exact 2024 revenue numbers, that price tag alone tells you they’re playing in a different league money-wise.
If Dana really wanted to play savior, Morgantown’s where the cape would fit. Still, Dana just laughed. Maybe it was the Miami sun talking, or maybe he’s too busy enjoying his new Paramount bankroll to think about NIL collectives in Appalachia. Either way, Pat planted the seed. And let’s be real — stranger things have happened in college football than a UFC boss dropping a bag on a Big 12 program.

West Virginia’s football 2025 season: what do analysts and Vegas think?
West Virginia fans might want to keep the champagne corked for now. Rich Rodriguez is back in Morgantown, and while the nostalgia’s strong, Vegas has the Mountaineers pegged at 5–6 wins. Optimists say maybe 7 if a quarterback steps up, and the line stops folding on third-and-short. Phil Steele? He’s got them dead last in the Big 12. Yeah… not exactly playoff buzz.
The QB battle is wide open between Nicco Marchiol, Jaylen Henderson, and Max Brown — three guys, one job, and no clear favorite. That uncertainty alone has analysts like RJ Young ranking WVU 68th nationally. The defense has some red-flags, way too many transfers, the offense has consistency issues, and in the Big 12, that’s a recipe for getting steamrolled if you’re not ready.

But it’s not all gloom. Rodriguez’s up-tempo offense could give opponents headaches if the transfers gel fast. Running back Jahiem White is the real deal — preseason All-Big 12 and the type of player who can turn a busted play into a house call. If WVU’s going to surprise people, he’ll be the spark.

The schedule isn’t doing them any favors, but it’s got chances for statement wins — Utah, Colorado, and, of course, Pitt. Most folks see 2025 as a setup year before a bigger leap in 2026. But if the stars align, and maybe if a certain $500M fight boss decides to sprinkle a little magic dust, this season could get a whole lot more interesting. So, is it likely to happen? Sorry Country boys.
