Deion Sanders lives every game! Even during the bye week, he did not rest. He and his staff were continuously working to make the team better. However, they have consistently exceeded expectations this season. Winning is important. There are teams who are undefeated and can be their biggest threat in the coming days.
However, Sanders is a spiritual guy. He had to thank God after his victory. Last night wasn’t easy as the game was played on Texas Tech’s home field. They did not get the start they wanted. Texas Tech was 13 points ahead, and this could have shaken any other team, but the Buffs stayed calm and turned the tables in their favor. Sports Illustrated reported Sanders’ statements after the game. “It’s almost like they got to get hit in the face to get going.”
Well, that’s what happened. After a few bad drives, the offense picked up in the second quarter and never looked back. The defense also showed up and produced a shutdown in the same quarter. While the home team did manage some successful drives in the second half, it wasn’t enough. One particular play kept on getting repeated the whole game, and Texas Tech did not have any answer to the Buffs’ screens.
Sanders reflected on his team’s ability to bounce back from a difficult situation. He mentioned that the players got the rhythm they needed and maintained it throughout the game. “We’ve been very strong in the victory margin when we get out to a good start,” he added. The Buffs still have plenty of football to play this season. It will be interesting to see how they approach the remaining season. After Iowa State’s loss to the Jayhawks, Prime Time’s team is in control of its destiny when it comes to conference play. Can they make it to the championship game? Well, well, well! That would be some turnaround.
