Despite the pressure, Marshall was unstoppable, tearing through Northwestern’s defense with explosive runs. He accounted for two of Michigan’s touchdowns and racked up 142 yards on 19 carries, helping the Wolverines enter the fourth quarter with a 21-16 lead.
Northwestern reclaimed the lead with 12 minutes remaining, prompting Marshall to respond with another electrifying run. He surged 24 yards past the Wildcats’ defense but was tackled awkwardly, landing hard on his right shoulder. Though visibly in pain, Marshall managed to walk off the field on his own. Bryson Kuzdzal stepped in to replace him, adding 17 yards on three carries. The injury immediately raised concerns for both Sherrone Moore and the Michigan faithful, as the severity could potentially sideline Marshall for the remainder of the season.

Michigan is already injury-stricken, with Justice Haynes confirmed to be out for the remainder of the season. With the playoffs nearing, losing an instrumental offensive player like Jordan Marshall would be devastating. Adding the fact that the Wolverines came to the matchup after a bye week (usually used to recover health), the injury had multiple implications.
However, Moore explained in the post-game press conference that Marshall’s X-rays came back negative, which means that with rest, the RB could recover in a short time. That didn’t stop the fans from sending their prayers to Jordan Marshall on social media.
