The College Football Playoff committee released its rankings after week 14, and while some football programs are happy with the rankings as they turned out to be in their favor, Ole Miss Head Coach Lane Kiffin and his squad were left feeling disappointed. But why? Simply because they are out of the college football playoffs. The bias in the latest rankings has left Kiffin frustrated. But he is not alone in fighting for a spot in the playoffs.

As soon as the rankings came out, Kiffin’s quarterback took to Instagram and wrote, “Play a game for it. Winner gets in. Followed by Alabama’s mascot elephant vs. Ole Miss mascot shark.” Jaxson Dart is demanding a fair chance with a face-off against The Tide. Did he just throw shade at the Crimson Tide, questioning their legitimacy in the playoff race?

After week 14, Alabama and Ole Miss are walking on the same path with a 9-3 record. Now, what leaves Kiffin and his quarterback furious are the rankings. According to the latest rankings, Alabama is ranked at No. 11, while the Rebels are ranked at No. 13. If we take a closer look at their performance this season, Ole Miss deserves a fair chance.

Well, both teams have lost three games this season; then why is Alabama ranked above them? All three games Ole Miss lost this season were narrow defeats. Meanwhile, the Tide, who are favored by the committee, disappointed the entire world of football with their poor performance against Oklahoma 3-24 in week 13. Yes! Their offense failed to score even a single touchdown, and guess what? They still have a chance to qualify for the playoffs.

What about Ole Miss? How do they fare? Well, the losses are against Kentucky, LSU and Florida. All losses within a single touchdown. Moreover, let’s take into account Bama’s win over the Dawgs. Well, Kiffin has that too.

The committee’s bias is not new to college football. In the past few weeks, many experts, analysts, and former players have raised significant questions, but is it too late now? However, after the rankings were released today, Kiffin did not hold back and took a jab at the committee. Let’s find out what he said.

Lane Kiffin takes a jab at the college football committee

Like every other season, Lane Kiffin was trending this season as well. He gave a good start to the team, but a defeat against the LSU Tigers gave critics a chance to point fingers at him. After that, Ole Miss lost two games, and now they are out of the playoff race.

He could not see his team standing after Alabama and Miami. He let out his frustration on X and wrote, You guys actually meet for days and come up with these rankings?? @CFBPlayoff Do you actually watch the quality of players, teams, and road environments (we played in one of yours this year 💤) or just try and make the ACC feel relevant?? Btw one of your teams paid us not to play again next year. Same #12 spot you guys had Clemson ranked last week. How did that go against the @SEC??? Rewatch UGA Clemson closely if you want a reminder of the two conferences. #SpotTheBall anywhere @ACCFootball #RememberTakeAKnee”

We are sure that, like Kiffin, you might have questions for the committee. After a few teams lost in week 14, it benefited other ACC teams. Of them, Kiffin has raised questions about Clemson’s schedule. Now, coming Saturday, they will play against SMU. If they win, they can secure a seat in the playoffs. Ole Miss is out of the race, but will Alabama enter the playoffs despite a 9-3 record?
