Well, it looks like Buffs coach Deion Sanders is the only barrier between Travis Hunter and the Heisman Trophy. Shocking, right? There is a specific kind of hate for Deion Sanders in the world of college football. Despite his team’s convincing performance, criticism constantly surrounds them. They are even regarded as the team that “plays for clicks.” All this may make it really hard for Travis to win in the Heisman race, and even he thinks the same!

Deion Sanders’ reputation may affect Travis Hunter’s Heisman Trophy odds. Even famous sportscaster Rich Eisen feels the same. Today, @JaKi took to X to share Rich Eisen’s thoughts on Hunter’s chances of getting the Heisman trophy, saying, “If he doesn’t win, it will be anti-Deion bias. He is playing with every snap. His routes are second to none, and he plays defense lights out. I swear he is going to do this in the pros.” It seems that even Eisen thinks that if Travis doesn’t win, it will be solely because of bias rather than his skills in the game.

Even the two-way phenom echoed the same in an episode of ‘Kickin It With Dee,’ on why he might not win the Heisman. “I could be at the top of their list. They are just not saying anything. And I can also be at the bottom of the list because they just don’t like who my coach is,” Hunter said. It’s an undeniable fact that college football somehow hates Deion Sanders. However, it doesn’t seem fair to punish a player like Travis Hunter for that reason.

While the 2024 season has made a significant impact on how people view Coach Prime and his players after their remarkable performances, it’s still not totally undone. However, whatever the circumstances, Tavis Hunter is currently the threat to all Colorado Buffs competitors; even the Kansas head coach feels the same.
