College GameDay has all the fun and insights that fans want from their favorite college football analysts. Whether it’s Nick Saban‘s savage comments or Pat McAfee‘s electric speech, no wonder fans are glued to their screens on Saturday nights. However, this week is marked as the last week of the 2o24 season and fans are eager to watch all the games. Meanwhile, Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso, two of the analysts, are going viral, and not for obvious reasons.
ESPN’s beloved analyst, Lee Corso, who had been serving college football fans the latest buzz around this sport, has had some health issues in the past few years. After all, how healthy can you expect an 89-year-old to be? Meanwhile, his fans are bombarding Kirk Herbstrieit to let the man live away from the hustle of this chaotic world and spend time with his family.
I love Lee Corso but it is time for his family to take him home and love him. If he has to work for some financial reason then @espn needs to pony up and take care of the man. It is sad to watch. I believe @KirkHerbstreit try’s to help and protect him but enough is enough.…

“I love Lee Corso, but it is time for his family to take him home and love him. If he has to work for some financial reason, then @espn needs to pony up and take care of the man. It is sad to watch. I believe @KirkHerbstreit tries to help and protect him, but enough is enough. Praying.” Randy Stamps penned the post on X, as he’s one of those fans who are concerned over Lee Corso’s declining health.
If you’re still unaware, Corso had a massive stroke in 2009, which affected his health very badly. More recently, he was even missing from some of the College GameDay episodes. Which made fans worried about his wellbeing.
While these two share a special bond that’s evident from their candid chats on and off the show. In the recent episode of the show, Herbstreit was seen having a long conversation with Lee Corso before the episode started and later Corso even shared it on his Instagram page. However, that’s not what we’re talking about; currently, fans are lashing out at ESPN on why they aren’t taking care of Corso’s financial needs and that he had to continue his job at this age.

Lee Corso got sympathy from his fans while ESPN was brutally trolled
One concerned fan wrote on X that “@collegeGameDay Lee Corso is sounding like Joe Biden, please let that old man have some time off.” Yeah, professionally, Corso is doing things like US President Joe Biden, who’s 82 years old. So this one fan finds a striking similarity between the two of them, as Corso is also working at a very old age.
What’s your perspective on:
Is it time for Lee Corso to retire and enjoy his golden years with family?
Have an interesting take?
Next up, a guy wrote, “ESPN is fu**ed up for still rolling Lee Corso out there.” This one is probably angry at ESPN for their commitments with Lee Corso. As per him, ESPN should grant some mercy to this old man and let him live the rest of his life in peace.

Then there’s a guy who wrote, “Lee Corso is talking like that one TA you would have in a math class. Can’t understand one word. #Gameday.” Yeah, because of his age, the old man may bluff a little, but there are people there who got his back. Such as Kirk Herbstreit, who’s always there to remind Corso if he forgets something while being alive.
Last but not least, a frustrated fan wrote, “Lee Corso too, old man. time to retire.” Well, though the fans are saying all the nasty things to remove Corso from his place because of his age, there isn’t any official statement from the officials. Corso is super excited about the upcoming Auburn vs. Alabama game. He mentioned it’s been on his mind all week as the college football season wraps up.
