The Heisman Trophy race is raging fumes with every passing day, and when you have two remarkable stakeholders from the same team, it’s always hard to choose who’s more deserving. Well, that’s the case with Buffs quarterback player Shedeur Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter. Both of them are performing exceptionally well in this season and are two strong contenders for the Heisman. However, there is always a buzz around the corner that Shedeur is not a deserving candidate for the race. It’s obvious because he is Deion Sanders’ son, but how can Travis let it slide without taking a stand for his brother?

Following this on today’s episode of the Travis Hunter Show, Hunter addressed the whole notion of prejudice towards the Shedeur Sanders Heisman candidacy, saying, “In their head, they’re going to put somebody else in that race just because Shedeur is Coach Prime’s son, and it’s not happening. If it wasn’t me, then they’d get it—they would put him in there. But since it’s me in there, they’re not going to put Shedeur in there, which I think he should be in there.” It looks like there will be tough competition between the two, but for now, Hunter is also on team Shedeur.

Why should not Travis Hunter be on team Shedeur? He has not only given an edge to the team offense this season but has also contributed to their No. 20 standing in the playoff projection. Talking about his gameplay this season, Shedeur has recorded 2882 yards with 24 touchdowns and six interceptions playing for the Buffs. Which is more than to make him a deserving Heisman contender. With or without Coach Prime’s tag, Shedeur is shining bright with his performance.

Shedeur Sanders’s execution speaks volumes, as Fox Sports also gave him 8th position in the Heisman Trophy odds. In the list, Shedeur and Longhorns Quinn Ewers are holding the same position with +4000 odds. However, the question here is: does Shedeur really have standing against Travis Hunter’ in the Heisman race, as the stats are showing something else?

Will Shedeur’s fate tumble against Travis Hunter?

Well, the two-way star Travis Hunter has become the new favorite contender as he makes it to the top of the Heisman odd charts. After displaying a remarkable performance against the Texas Tech Hunter position, moved from +220 to +130 odds, beating Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty. During the game, Travis recorded 9 receptions for 99 yards. This even amazed Fox Sports analyst RJ Young. He praised him, saying, “We have never seen anybody do what Travis Hunter is doing presently.” Now that Hunter is in the top position, the chances are fading for Shedeur.

However, there is one thing that cannot be overlooked: it’s their duo that does wonders for the team. At the end of the day, Shedeur is throwing the b–l to Travis, making it intriguing because if one wins, the other does too. Even Shedeur mentioned the same thing, talking about who among them should win it, saying, “I just want Travis to win, of course, and that will be almost like I won because I threw him the b–l” This only reflects the kind of bond they share. Now let’s see who ultimately wins the title in New York.
