Shedeur Sanders isn’t just another QB prospect—he’s a game changer in the making. With his name climbing up draft boards, it’s not hard to see him as a top 3 player off the board. But what if the best move isn’t going first but finding the right spot? That’s where the Las Vegas Raiders enter holding the No. 6 overall pick.

As NFL posted on X on February 7, Shedeur Sanders and Deion Sanders were both suited up at the NFL Honors Red Carpet. And in this appearance, the top prospect made one thing clear—he’s ready to conquer the next level. “Just the challenge and the excitement,” the 22-year-old QB stated. “We established ourselves at Jackson State. We did at Colorado. So now it’s time to do it in the league.

With draft speculations heating up, one particular moment on DNVR Sports caught people’s attention. When told to “take it easy on the Broncos,” Shedeur was caught off guard, replying, “How do you know we’re gonna play each other?” While the hosts danced around the answer, the implication was clear. Sooner or later, a Raiders vs. Broncos showdown could be on the cards.

Some key factors could push Shedeur towards the Raiders. Rumor has it that the first two picks off the board won’t be signal callers. According to reports, two generational talents, including explosive two-way star Travis Hunter, could be the first two picks in the 2025 NFL draft. If this happens, the teams from No. 3 to No. 5 could be drafting QBs, including Cam Ward. If Shedeur slides to No. 6, he could be a perfect fit for the Raiders. And there are reasons for that.

Why the Raiders make sense for Shedeur Sanders

First things first. Deion Sanders has been vocal about Shedeur Sanders joining a program that has the talent and resources to develop quarterbacks. As an NFL veteran, he’s aware that success in the pro league is about landing in the right environment—not just being the first name called. With a change in their staff, the Raiders are building something fresh, which could be beneficial for him in the long run.

Shedeur Sanders openly shows his admiration and respect for NFL GOAT Tom Brady, who is now the co-owner of the Raiders. And then there’s the new HC Pete Carroll, who is known for his development of smaller-framed QBs. But it could be the latest move by Chip Kelly as the new Raiders OC that bolstered the interest. Even Deion Sanders is open about his praise for the former Ohio State OC and QB coach.

During Kelly’s stint as UCLA’s HC, Sanders said of him, “I adore their head coach. I have tremendous amount of respect for him… He’s one of the real ones, he’s one of the good ones, and he knows what he’s doing.
