The 2025 season has not gone quite the way Shane Beamer wanted it to go. With a 3-7 overall record, South Carolina is 15th in the SEC, and it does not qualify for the playoffs or bowl eligibility. This marks a stark contrast to their previous season. However, despite the setbacks, Beamer confidently believes next year could go his way.

The week 12 clash against Texas A&M perfectly showcased how bad it has been for Shane Beamer’s side. The Gamecocks were up against the unbeaten table toppers, who were marked by oddsmakers to be 17.5-point spread favorites. However, South Carolina shocked everyone by taking a massive 27-point lead. Through QB LaNorris Sellers’ efforts, the Gamecocks were poised to upset A&M. But it all came crashing down as Marcel Reed went nuclear in the second half of the game. Surprisingly, Beamer stayed positive, even after the loss.

I do know next year at this time, we’re going to be sitting here on this Tuesday night, watching the playoff rankings to see where we are in the ranking show,” said Beamer.

While some doubt where his confidence comes from, it may signal that Beamer has already started planning for next season. Those plans could involve recruiting moves, tactical adjustments, and even changes to his coaching staff. Only two games remain for South Carolina in the regular season, both of them at home. First up, they face Coastal Carolina in Week 13, and then they will take on Clemson in the season-ender game.

This is a developing story
