Shilo Sanders’ journey since college football hasn’t been a happy ride. First, he went undrafted but then got a chance to prove himself at Tampa Bay. That path didn’t take him anywhere after the Bucs waived him following an on-field scuffle in a preseason game. Now, we have a new update on Shilo, and not a good one for the former Colorado safety.

The latest snub didn’t come from any NFL team. Shilo’s agent was hopeful that he’d land on the practice squad of a pro franchise after he was waived off by Tampa. That hasn’t materialized. Now, the makers of the Madden game, developed by EA Orlando, have removed Shilo Sanders from their 2026 version.

Football Forever shared a post on Instagram announcing the news. “Free-agent rookie Shilo Sanders has been REMOVED from Madden 26. Sanders was featured in the game when he played for the Buccaneers, but has since been removed,” the caption further read.

The Buccaneers’ farewell came with a $4,669 fine for unnecessary roughness after he punched a Buffalo Bills player. Although CBS’s Brad Crawford shared interesting intel about the whole episode. “Sanders was competing in fall camp and during the preseason in a deep secondary for the Buccaneers and would’ve likely been a roster casualty regardless of his ejection in last week’s finale,” he wrote on X. Shilo had signed a $2.9 million, four-year contract with the Buccaneers. But it all came crashing down.

But even after all the challenges he has been facing in his NFL career, he has maintained calmness throughout the whole saga. “You always want to have other interests that you’re interested in,” Shilo said back in August in a YouTube video. He continued. “I’ve always done that my whole life, playing football, with music, acting, and modeling. I’m well-versed, and my parents make sure of that, so I’ve been prepared for anything that happens, cause you never know what could happen.”

Sanders has already made his modeling debut in Paris. Meanwhile, he starred as his father on the popular Black Mafia Family show on the Starz premium network. Recently, he signed with United Talent Agency, seeking modeling and acting gigs, as reported by the Hollywood Reporter. Even Deion Sanders revealed on the Colorado Football Coaches Show Thursday that Shilo has had a “couple of interviews” related to the acting niche. However, Shilo’s Madden woes still have the fans all miffed.
