Arkansas State’s bowl eligibility still hangs on balance with two more games against Louisiana Tech and Missouri left on the card. They need to rack up at least one win to secure the next jump in the SEC fight. That said, this is not the only thing they need to put right. The uncertainty over quarterback Taylen Green’s future with the Razorbacks is another thing that has been plaguing coach Sam Pittman’s headspace lately. The Boise State transfer found his solid footing in college football amidst a rollercoaster two years so far. Concerning this season, in some games, he was injury-down, while in others, he showcased why he’s the favorite offensive asset of Pittman. Green’s intangible shines through the Hog’s program big time. The grit and the amazing dual-threat ability he oozes are unreal.
The only thing that sucks about Green’s Arkansas tenure is it is gonna end as he plans to jump ship to the professional board. But is it the last thing he could do to elevate his stacks? David Pollack made him smell the coffee.
The NFL talks are taking a surge now and then and for a reason. The ongoing brilliance of 2,055 yards, 60 percent pass completion with 11 touchdowns, and seven interceptions must have stunned the NFL suitors. While there are still no final words on whether the kid will turn pro the next year, David Pollack issues a subtle ‘playing small’ warning at least as far as money is concerned.

‘‘If that guy goes in the portal I think he’s gonna make a lot of money I think he can make a lot of money if he doesn’t go pro because I’ve seen him throw deep balls after deep balls that are really good I’ve seen him run around the dude’s like 6-5, 6-6 yes, he’s running 4-5, 4-4,” said the veteran analyst suggesting a better career move for the young prodigy as this point in time.

Green received a nasty bone bruise on his right knee in Week 5 against No. 7 Tennessee. But he didn’t let it put a pause on him. Thanks for the timely bye week. The kid was back right in the game against LSU. While his rehabs certainly had some toll on his performance, he still stood out. One week more and boom! The old fiery chap is back. The SEC Offensive Player of the Week for a breakout Mississippi State beat-down was worth the kudos.
”That dude could be a weapon of mass destruction like that dude could light people on fire and I’m sorry woo Pig I love you and I love Arkansas and I think they’ve competed well this year and I hate to say that but that’s kind of the world we live in you look at that guy Man he’s got some special written all over him’‘ Pollack kept on singing praise of the Texas native.
The former NFL great believes he will be a hit on the transfer portal with teams being ready to put anything to the table that will guarantee them a Taylan Geen. As Pollack envisaged, teams would be like, ”he could be our dude with his athletic ability and his throwing ability” and turn on the go-getter mode. Pollack isn’t wrong at all. Coach Pittman, too, is unsure of Green’s NFL future.

Samm Pittman will have a reflective discussion over Taylan Green’s potential NFL drive
Offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino picked up the exceptional talent for the Hogs. Pittman, scouting the gift he had, was quite sure of the athletic value he would bring to the program for the next couple of seasons. But little did he know that the real worth of the Taylan Geen lies in the intangibles he carried. The kid is more than a player. He is a team man, an early leader, and a visionary in the locker room and the field.
He never let the vampire energy of the locker room get the better of him and managed to bond well with his peers during the off-season. ”He sees things from the defensive point of view, so he’ll come up to me and be like, ‘Hey, get the offense rolling’, and just say some things, and it’s back-and-forth”, said Pittman, marking the guy is a legit decision maker.

When it’s time to reshape his future with a pro-move, the Arkansas Coach is more than interested in doing whatever serves Green the best. But he’s still not sure if he should count the NFL or not. When asked about his take, the veteran said he and the other coaches would sit and have an inclusive talk with Green and six more players about their potential NFL decision.
