Texas A&M is looking unstoppable this season with a 5-0 record. They are also 4-0 at home with two consecutive SEC victories. Whereas Florida looked lost at the beginning of the season until they dominated the Longhorns last week. But playing against Aggies on their home ground is not the same. The home crowd advantage is real. But alongside the plays on the field, the police also had to step in for some crowd control.

This game was crucial for both teams. For Texas A&M, it solidified their status in the SEC and made their playoff chances even stronger. But for the Florida Gators, it’s their only chance to make sure they come out strong against a tough SEC schedule that could possibly save Billy Napier’s job. But even in such a high-stakes game, fans started messing things up on the sidelines. During the game a fan got too drunk and started misbehaving, trying to enter into the legacy lounge. But thankfully security was called to handle the situation. Texas A&M police hit X with this news and said, “Public Intoxication. Legacy Lounge. The subject kept trying to enter the lounge without credentials. Released to a sober friend. Ejected. #BTHOflorida.”

But this isn’t the first time Kyle Field has faced something of this sort. During their game against Mississippi State late in the first half, there was an intoxicated fan found near the men’s restroom. He called his sober friend to come in to get him. But it turned out even his friend was not sober, and that’s when both the guys ended up getting arrested. It’s pretty evident that Texas A&M doesn’t really tolerate such behavior.

How high were the stakes for this game?
Texas A&M can make history with this win. If things go their way, this victory could push the Aggies to a top 3 ranking. They have not had that high an AP poll rank since the 1939 season. The sheer joy from games like these is probably what makes fans act out in immature ways. The Florida Gators started strong when DJ Lagway instituted a 75-yard touchdown drive which ended with a 1 yard pass to Amir Jackson, which gave them a 7-0 lead, but then Texas A&M responded fast with a 75-yard drive of their own, including a massive 67 yard pass to Mario Craver, which tied the score.

Then the Aggies again scored because of Le’Veon Moss’s run and ending with a 22 yard pass to Jamarion Morrow. Florida equalized the score to 14 with Lagway’s touchdown pass to Dallas Wilson. Both teams looked strong at the start. Later in the second quarter, Florida’s struggles with incomplete passes and sacks made it tough for them to score a single point before halftime, but Texas A&M scored and got a lead of 21-14.
Even in the third quarter, Florida fumbled on their first possession, which gave the Aggies a chance to make a field goal, which put them at 24-14. Gators kicked a field goal in their next drive and got their score to 24-17. This was the last points scored by Florida. They would go empty in the fourth quarter while the Aggies would pile on ten more points to end the game 34-17. Texas A&M is a real contender this season, and could surprise everyone by reaching to the very end of the playoffs.
