Texas A&M is ready to render heartbreaks to their SEC rivals. The Aggies had fallen out of relevance until Mike Elko came around. Taking the reins from Jimbo Fisher after his dismissal from the program, he’s shown that the Aggies can be an SEC topper as the only undefeated SEC program going strong with 7-1 (5-0). So, it’s not even surprising that this No. 10 ranked team is going to be a threat to other SEC powerhouses like Georgia and Texas on the recruitment front.
The hunting spree continues for two trending elite FSU decommitted players of the 2025 class as they remain open for recruitment. This is what Steve Wiltfong said of No. 3 EDGE and No. 46 overall player Javion Hilson and No. 12 WR and No. 81 overall player CJ Wiley in a new YouTube episode on On3 Recruits on October 29. “I think ultimately they both could be committed to Texas A&M by December 4th…Both visited back in the spring. Both inside Kyle Field for the Aggies’ dominant second half performance and big win over LSU.”

Both had been in attendance when the Aggies delivered an epic comeback in the second half with four touchdowns to clock the board at 38-23. Still, a flip would be a shocker considering that the two coveted prospects already have 80+ odds to commit to the other two SEC programs. According to On3’s RPM and Wiltfong’s prediction, Hilson has a 91.7% chance of committing to Texas.

The Cocoa HS 5-star EDGE decommitted from Mike Norvell’s program on September 8. This is his second decommitment after previously decommitting from Alabama on the same day he committed to the Seminoles on January 16. Wiltfong is hopeful for another return, as he said, “I’m expecting him back in college station for the Texas A&M – Texas game later in the fall.”

CJ Wiley is the latest to decommit from FSU (1-7) after their 36-14 fall to Miami last Saturday. The coveted WR opened his recruitment after his last visit to the Aggies game. But he still has 82.3% to land with Kirby Smart in Georgia. But Wiltfong is optimistic: “I could see both being at Texas A&M when all is said and done.” Could his prediction come true? After all, Mike Elko isn’t winning just on the field.
Texas A&M 2025 recruitment strength
With their dominance this season, Mike Elko is finding no problem flipping the commitment of elite 2026 prospects, including 4-star EDGE Jordan Carter who decommitted from Alabama to sign with Texas A&M. After their glorious win over LSU, the Aggies also won two more 4-star commitments: EDGE Samu Moala and WR Aaron Gregory. Now, they rank No. 4 in the 2026 recruiting cycle with seven commits (five 4-star players).

As for the 2025 recruiting class, Texas A&M ranks No. 9th in On3’s 2025 recruiting class with 22 commits, which include 5-star QB Husan Longstreet, 15 4-star commits, and six 3-star players. Adding Hilson and Wiley would drastically improve their rank to a possible top 5 and prospect for the future. The Aggies still have three games with unranked teams before the ultimate test against No. 6 Texas on November 30. It’s truly going to be a game-changing SEC matchup!
