Jimmy Horn Jr. excited for his first and only bowl game with CU Buffs

Jimmy Horn Jr. has impressed many this season, and he couldn’t have asked for a better kickoff in his senior season with the Colorado Buffaloes. He had an amazing start to his season, catching seven passes for 198 yards and a touchdown in the season opener. But things haven’t gone exactly as he had hoped over the last four months. Now, he’s looking to end his season and his college career on a high note this Saturday when the No. 20 Buffs take on No. 17 BYU in the Valero Alamo Bowl.

On Thursday, at an Alamo Bowl press conference, he said, “I’m just thankful and blessed for this opportunity to be in a bowl game.” He added, “I cherish this. I’m going to go out there and play really hard. So I’m just ready.”

The season was not easy for him. Horn has faced some challenges this season, playing in a loaded receiver room and dealing with injuries that pretty much sidelined him for November. Since that explosive opener, he’s caught just 26 passes for 236 yards and hasn’t made a catch since October 26 against Cincinnati, missing all or most of the last four games.

But the good news? Horn is back to full health and has been grinding through bowl practices. “I’ve been feeling pretty good,” he shared. “The way I got through it, I go to treatment every day, you know. Just got to show up and get the treatment for my body so I can go out there and perform.”

When Horn is on the field, he’s something special, and as the wide receiver gets ready for the big game, we are sure his fans are super excited to see if he can make one last big impact before moving on to the next chapter of his life.
