More than 200,000 eyes watched the first day of the NFL Draft from Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Millions tuned in remotely to watch their favorite teams make their coveted first-round selections. Nerves, drama, thrill, and excitement—this year’s draft had everything. Players got massive downgrades, and underdog players rose to make the first round. But amidst all these upgrades and downgrades, there was a constant: Travis Hunter. The guy made the Jaguars trade up with the Browns and maintained his dominance by getting picked as the overall second pick. That does merit a lot of celebration, right?

Since the 2024 college football season ended, mock drafts have been the flavor of the pre-draft discourse. Several players were being touted to land the coveted top spots, and most of the time, the list usually fluctuated. We saw Jaxson Dart gradually climbing the ranks of analysts’ mock drafts and making it to the first round. Then, there was Jalen Milroe, who constantly saw fluctuations in his draft stock. The drama around Shedeur Sanders is now a public outcry. Travis Hunter didn’t budge in a single place throughout this time and was always going to be behind Cam Ward.

So, when his name got called in the draft, there would have been a little surprise for the Buffs two-way star. After all, this was a Heisman winner. How could a team let him go? Now, after his future is finally set, his fiancée, Leanna Lenee, is finally back on Instagram.  The feat is undoubtedly a cause for celebration on Lenee’s part, and the social media activities merit some posts of celebration and joy. But why was her account deactivated in the first place?

Well, all of this dates back to December 2024 in the Heisman ceremony. Lenee was also there and sitting beside Travis’s mother to watch her fiancé lift the coveted trophy. But the moment, which should have been filled with joy and ecstasy, became a nightmare for Travis and Leanna. The controversy struck when Lenee didn’t stand up from her seat, and people saw Coach Deion Sanders allegedly instructing her to stand up for the two-way star. Lenne also clarified all the speculation in a statement.

This is making me so mad because anyone who knows me knows I support Travis in every win, everything he does, because I truly, truly love that man. He is perfect in my eyes. When his name was called, I instantly went to… If you watch the video, you can see me like [gestures like she was about to stand]… But his mom didn’t get up. So I was like, ‘Oh, maybe I don’t get up. Maybe I just sit here with her.” But the controversy didn’t end there.

The trolls on the internet found an old video of Travis’s fiancée before they began dating, dancing with another man. Later, another instance emerged where Lenee seemed agitated while Hunter posed for photos at an Adidas pop-up shop in New York. The users criticized Lenee for being unsupportive and unhappy as Hunter was having his moment in front of the camera. This trolling and media speculation led to Hunter and his fiancée deactivating their respective social media handles. After months of waiting, Lenee has finally reactivated her Instagram account, but she has kept it private, maybe in a bid to keep those trolls at bay.
