Is Alabama the clear winner in the upcoming SEC game with Vanderbilt on October 6? Judging from the latest availability report, the Crimson Tide has a very strong chance to take the upper hand in their upcoming clash. Still, after coming off of a fresh victory from No. 2 Georgia, Kalen DeBoer has some key players dangling in uncertainty. Here’s the teams’ latest availability report and Clark Lea’s Commodores already look like they’re in a hot pot.

As per Nick Kelly’s “latest availability report for Alabama” on X on October 4, the Crimson Tide is in danger of missing their key receiver Kendrick Law whose status is questionable. Law sustained a lower-body injury in their last clash against Georgia after recording two catches for 41 yards and a touchdown this season. Another Alabama player listed in the availability report is LB Justin Jefferson who is ruled probable. He suffered a leg injury in the second quarter and left the game for good.

It takes more than a full roster of healthy starters to take down a national team like Alabama. But the availability report for Vanderbilt just dampened fans’ hopes with eight listed players. Three of them — DL Zaylin Wood, CB Mark Davis, and OL Grayson Morgan — are listed as out, four of them — WR Loic Fouonji, S Dontae Carter, WR Joseph McVay, and DL Khordae Sydnor — are listed as probable while EDGE Boubacar Diakite has a questionable status. The SEC will release more reports on players’ availability each day before the game kickoff.

Vanderbilt put up quite a fight in their previous clash with No. 7 Missouri who ultimately defeated them in a 30-27 double overtime win. Needless to say, the upcoming game against the No. 1 team in college football is going to be a huge challenge for Lea’s team who have fallen 2-2 with the last loss. Given the circumstances, Alabama didn’t waste their chance to troll Vanderbilt ahead of their road game in Nashville.

Alabama takes a dig at Vanderbilt ahead of their meeting

Would the FirstBank Stadium have more Alabama fans than Vanderbilt’s? Quite possible. Even Alabama Football is convinced that’s the case as per their IG post where they quoted the words “away” in their post to take a dig at the Commodores.

Alabama, who just won over Georgia in front of a 100,077 crowd at Bryant-Denny Stadium, isn’t too impressed with the 28,934-seat FirstBank Stadium’s capacity. After all, that number is the lowest attendance at Alabama’s SEC games since 1963 (excluding 2020 COVID season), as per 247Sports. Interestingly, that 1963 game was played against Vanderbilt. Alabama is currently 60-19-4 against Vanderbilt as they look for another win on the road.
