With only one defeat and six straight wins, the Ole Miss Rebels are thriving under head coach Lane Kiffin this season. As part of the Turning Point USA event, Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, and the US Vice President, JD Vance, made their rounds once again to the University of Mississippi. Vance was the first to address the crowd, and he kicked off his speech with one question, ‘Are you ready?’ To which the Ole Miss fans and students’ reply was the infamous Hotty Toddy cheer, which impressed JD Vance.
“Hotty Toddy, gosh Almighty! Who the hell are we? Hey, flim flam bim bam, Ole Miss by damn!”

The support from Vance proves to be crucial for the Ole Miss Rebels. His endorsement is a weighted advantage for the team to prove that they can bring in a lot of revenue to help in the growth of the University and its management. Vance’s presence could bring a lot more eyes to the school, inviting more people to come and watch their games.

If the Rebels do qualify, this year will mark the first time that they will be competing in the Southeastern Conference Championships. Last year, the team got really close to qualifying but missed the opportunity as they lost two of their final three games. Now, with this potentially being the debut in the SEC Championship, Lane Kiffin and his team must prove their worth to the management by bringing in a lot of revenue through tickets and merchandise sales. The VP’s endorsement will also benefit the team.
The President of Ole Miss’s Turning Point Chapter, Lesley Lachman, also expressed her gratitude towards the VP. She also claimed that her campus is finally getting the recognition for its values.
“What’s going through my head is this really is the turning point… So, we’re beyond excited to have them come to campus, and we’re set and ready,” Lesley Lachman said. [H/T SuperTalk FM]

Lane Kiffin compares the SEC to the NFL
Kiffin’s team is looking forward to competing in the SEC for the first time. With that in mind, the Rebels’ HC recently shared his honest thoughts on the SEC. While speaking to Pat McAfee on his podcast, Kiffin compares the conference to the NFL. He sees the competition as very tough and unpredictable, and is certain that anybody can outperform anybody.
“Yeah, they can. There’s examples all over the place of it, and in college football, but the SEC now is really the NFL. You look at these games. So many games are one score, or now you’ve got so many teams go into overtime to beat teams that they were supposedly much better than. That’s what we’re in. That’s the world we’re in,” Lane Kiffin said. [H/T On3.com]
This Saturday, the Rebels are preparing themselves to face the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Do you think the Rebels can benefit from JD Vance’s appearance on their campus?
