On Tuesday at around 5:14 PM, a calamity struck in Louisville, Kentucky. An Honolulu-bound UPS Flight 2967 lost power and crashed during takeoff from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. Sapp, on his Instagram account, shared screenshots of an article that claimed about his injury from the crash. “Among the burned and broken was Warren Sapp, the 6-foot-2, 300-pounds Tampa Bay legend whose Hall of Fame career once terrorized quarterbacks. Now, fighting for breath in a city that never knew his roar,” read the article. Contrary to the claim, Sapp was safe and sound and had returned from Buffs practice.
The Buffs’ pass rush coordinator wrote a strongly worded caption and called out the article. He accused the reporter of fabricating quotes and the whole story without verification. “Grand Rising! I get home from practice, and this the report I read and gave to a reporter!?? Cmon Now We gotta Do Better!! Who’s the reporter I spoke with at the Burn center after buying a Tea. Never mind the speech I was set to Give!!? WTH is going ON!!,” wrote Sapp on his IG account. The article’s story did feature a quote from Sapp.

Sapp is currently preparing for the WVU game on the road, as the Buffs will face them on 8th November. Sapp’s team is currently 3-6 in the season and desperately needs to win all the remaining games to maintain bowl eligibility. Surely then, Sapp must be ensuring the same in practice, and going by his daily life. But such unverified news surely can take a mental toll on anybody, and that’s exactly what Sapp must have faced.
The article mentioned how Sapp had slipped into the truck spot for a sweet tea and a quiet corner for his speech. “I was leaning against the lottery machine, scribbling notes about sacking life’s problems,” read the quote which Sapp himself called out. As for the crash, as per reports, it is expected that the death toll will rise. The incident is said to have happened after the left engine caught fire and fell off the wing during takeoff. We pray for the victims and their families and hope for a speedy recovery of the injured ones.

Warren Sapp issued a public statement regarding racial discrimination by the Police
Warren Sapp is arguably one of the greatest defensive tackles in NFL history. However, his life is filled with moments such as the article he shared, where the Tampa Bay legend has called out publicly. For instance, Sapp was involved in an arrest in Florida this year, after Sapp tried to intervene in a traffic stop. Sapp publicly called out the racial overtones of the officers present at the moment and also filed a $20 million lawsuit.

Sapp commented on a video by Gilbert Arenas, which advised people to avoid going out after 10 PM. “You should never leave your home after a certain time. It doesn’t make sense; there’s nothing out there. The worst cops in the world, they log in at 10 PM, they know that when the sh-t happens,” said Arenas. Sapp, however, left a comment on the video about the recourse one can take in such a situation. “Know your rights and stand on them!! Plus, always record the police!!” wrote Sapp.
Sapp was allegedly arrested for “interfering in the investigation” as per the Police. However, Sapp maintained a wholly different story. According to him, the officers “wrongfully” arrested him after he pointed out discrepancies in the officer’s ticket to the man. The Buffs’ pass rush cordinator also alleged that an officer said “shut your mouth, boy,” which had racial overtones. As of now, the lawsuit filed by Sapp is ongoing, and Sapp has recounted the story several times of racial profiling by the police.
