Well, the story revolves around the original owners of the stadium, and one man in particular: Kraft Heinz. There was an issue over the name, and in 2021, Heinz did not extend the stadium’s naming rights. Result? The City Council of Pittsburgh stepped in. Acrisure had an offer on the table for the naming rights, and the city accepted it in 2022.

Pittsburgh’s extended history of producing steel inspired the stadium’s design and the $281 million project was funded by the David L. Lawrence and PNC Park. Subsequently, the stadium underwent numerous improvements that resulted in the enchanting atmosphere it has today. Let’s take a glimpse of that.

A parking lot, wheelchair access, food and beverage options, and other amenities are available at the stadium, which is situated on little more than two acres and features a blend of four varieties of Kentucky Bluegrass turf. The multipurpose stadium has a reputation for hosting amazing concerts and shows in addition to athletic events. Two outdoor hockey games were held at the stadium in 2011 and 2017. However, the biggest-ever attendance at a sporting event in the history of the city, the Backyard Brawl, in 2022, brought 70,622 spectators to Art Rooney Avenue. It’s not the last, though.
