Being a multi-sport athlete at Binghamton High School earned Colbie Young first-team AA all-state honors for four consecutive years. His natural athleticism and versatility caught the attention of top programs, but it was during his 2021 season at Lackawanna College where he truly stood out. Averaging an impressive 19 yards per catch, Young’s offensive skillset made him one of the most coveted junior college players in the country. Offers from powerhouse programs like Florida, Tennessee, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, and Miami came flooding in, but it was the Miami Hurricanes that secured his commitment.

In his sophomore year with the Hurricanes, Young quickly made an impact, starting six of the nine games he played. With 32 receptions for 367 yards, he ranked third in receptions and second in yards on the team. Leading the Hurricanes with five receiving touchdowns, he proved to be a key player in Miami’s offensive arsenal. One standout game was against North Carolina, where Young tallied 43 yards on three catches, including a touchdown that showcased his knack for finding the end zone.
As a junior, Young’s role expanded significantly. He started 11 of 12 games, continuing to make his presence felt on the field. One of his most memorable performances came in the 2023 season opener against Ohio, where he hauled in six passes for 75 yards and a touchdown, helping the Hurricanes secure a statement win.
