Week 3 is here and ready to roll, and Florida and LSU have a lot to prove in this coin-toss game. Billy Napier will hope to upset a roaring group of Tigers, as he comes back after being upset himself by the Bulls in Week 2. Brian Kelly, on the other hand, will want to keep the Gators at bay, unlike last year. Both squads will be lining up for some intense action, and some favorite faces will be calling the game to add to all that excitement. Here’s a look at the announcers for this high-stakes clash.

As ABC is picking up the broadcast for the Florida vs. LSU game, the announcers for tonight are Sean McDonough and Greg McElroy. Joining from the sidelines will be Molly McGrath. McDonough will be calling the play-by-play, while McElroy is tasked with the breakdown and analysis.

McDonough is a known voice behind the mic, having been calling plays in sports for years now. He’s done so for games in the NHL, college basketball, and even in the Olympics. McDonough comes on ESPN/ABC once a week to cover college football, and he will also be calling plays on one of the CFP Semifinals. Additionally, you’ll also be hearing him on the big night – the National Championship game – on ESPN Radio.

Molly McGrath is a familiar face on the sidelines, capturing all the action that goes on here on gameday. In her 9 years with ESPN, she has covered numerous games for college football and basketball as a sideline reporter. She made her return to the college sports scene after a stint with FOX Sports, where she was a sideline reporter covering the NFL. All three will be part of an important night for both teams that will line up on the field tonight.

Setting the stage for the Florida vs LSU clash

Both Florida and LSU will want to walk away as the winner tonight. At this point, the stakes are higher for Billy Napier than they are for Brian Kelly. Had USF not stolen Florida’s victory in the last few seconds in that game, Napier would’ve had a lot less on his plate today. LSU is the favored winner for this game. The Gators enter this game unranked, after falling out of the Top 25 in the AP poll. LSU, however, is at No. 3.

Tigers fans will want Garrett Nussmeier to take a step closer to winning the Heisman Trophy. He already leads the SEC in pass completions and attempts. The improvement is showing, and he’ll be a true test for the Gators’ defense. Interestingly, that department has also not disappointed, as Florida has only allowed 238.5 yards per game so far. But will this be enough for Nussmeier and Co.?

Can Billy Napier turn the tide against LSU, or is his fate already sealed?

On the other hand, the Florida offense has to buckle up. DJ Lagway failed to impress against the Bulls, which reflects a little poorly on his resume. After all, he is one of the best quarterbacks in the country. But the LSU defense is also gearing up to stop the Gators. “He can sling it all over the place, and he’s 250 pounds. We know that once we get to him, we’re gonna have to do a good job of getting him down to the ground,” LSU LB Whit Weeks said.

Billy Napier’s seat is already hot, considering the difficulty of his schedule this year. And a loss to an unranked USF last weekend has nudged him closer to the cliff. That’s why Florida will be hoping to defeat LSU. But since the Tigers will have the home advantage, will Brian Kelly push Napier closer to a troubling fate?
