Hope the BYU game against Arizona State wasn’t forgotten. For a player who has become an instant hit for BYU this season, it was an incredible display. It’s none other than Isaiah Glasker, a linebacker for BYU. Glasker’s piece received widespread acclaim. National Player of the Week for the Chuck Bednarik Award went to Glasker. The award was shared on social media by Maxwell Football. For BYU this season, Glasker has been an outstanding starting LB. He has already recorded two sacks and 24 tackles in 6 games this season. His first interception during his time at BYU was a pick-six on Noah Fifita of Arizona. Now is the time to get to know this exceptional linebacker from the beginning of the position he holds.

Glasker played wide receiver during his high school years. Upon reaching BYU, he shifted to safety. Two years ago, during his red-shirt season, he was promoted to linebacker and has been there ever since. With just 16.3 points per game allowed, Glasker is a member of a BYU team that ranks 15th in the country in terms of scoring defense. His remarkable move in the Alamo Bowl has now made him the talk of the media. What did he do?

When the Cougars led 33-7 in the 4th quarter, Isaiah Glasker intercepted a football from Shedeur Sanders, the son of Deion Sanders, the standout quarterback for Colorado. It was a suitable exclamation point after a dominant BYU performance, even though it wasn’t a play that changed the outcome of the game because the Cougars had already laid everything out. The Cougars were therefore experiencing intense emotions. But Glasker demonstrated his rendition of the Deion Sanders victory dance as he stood up from completing his diving grab along the sidelines. Oh no! After the challenging night Deion Sanders had in San Antonio, this seems like an insult to injury.

Glasker was astute in his trolling, but it happened at the worst time. At that moment, the Buffs were behind and had little chance of winning. Safe to say, moments like this must hurt, even though the Buffs future is likely brighter. However, what about Isaiah Glasker’s performance trait? Is he a truly exceptional performer?
