A former four-star recruit from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Ricky Knight was ranked No. 21 as a cornerback in the Class of 2024 and was a No. 25th prospect from the State of Florida. Along with playing snaps on the gridiron, he was a track athlete, taking his school to the second round of the 1M state playoffs. Before that, he had spent three years at the Benjamin School, recording four passes for 92 yards. However, it was on the defensive unit where he excelled, with 47 tackles and an interception, helping the Buccaneers to the regional final round of the 2021 3A state playoffs.
Transitioning from a wide receiver to defensive back, Knight made his journey and was recruited by Mike Norvell. In July 2023, he committed to Seminoles, turning down offers from Penn State, Auburn, Texas A&M, Miami, and others.

His visit to Tallahassee was a success. “It was definitely fun and I was able to learn a lot,” he said per the Tallahassee Democrat. Not just the athletic facilities, he was excited about coming to Tallahassee. “I was able to see the dorms, meet the players, and learn a little more about the city. Coming up here is always fun and welcoming. I love it.”
The locker room chemistry was another factor that impressed him during his visit. “They definitely share a great bond. All the guys are loving with each other. You can definitely see their brotherhood,” he said to NoleGameday previously. During the practice reps last fall, Norvell was pleased with his former four-star player.
“I like what I see from him,” Mike Norvell said per On3. “He had a couple of really good plays today.” He continued. “Obviously, Ricky coming in, got here in the summer, I’ve seen some great flashes, and there are still a lot of areas he can continue to grow. Understanding some of the things physically, but I like what I’ve seen from him, and he’s definitely on the right path.” After making his collegiate debut against Charleston Southern, he redshirted and appeared on the scout teams. We are yet to hear from the head coach on this situation, as the DB finds his career in turmoil.
