Alex Atkins’ coaching career

This year, FSU’s offensive coach, Alex Atkins, has entered his third season with the team. Not to forget, he joined Florida State as the team’s offensive line coach in 2020. After that, in 2022, he was promoted and got the position of the team’s offensive coordinator. However, his coaching journey started at UT-Martin in 2007, working as a graduate assistant. Along with that, he joined Itawamba Community College in Mississippi as the team’s offensive line coach in 2010. Meanwhile, he joined several programs as a coach, such as Tulane, Charlotte, and so on.

Tulane hired him as the assistant head coach and offensive line coach in 2016. Later, in 2019, he served as the offensive coordinator as well as offensive line coach for the Charlotte 49ers. In addition, he was recognized with all-conference honors twice during his time as a player. Presently, the talented coach prepares his team for more challenges. Atkins’ response to his suspension

After Monday’s practice, Atkins addressed his suspension, expecting everything to run normally despite his absence. Not to forget, he received this suspension after violating NCAA rules dating back to the spring of 2022. Due to this, the NCAA sanctioned the program for recruiting violations.

Following his suspension, he said, “Our job, as coaches, is to get prepared and make sure they get the information. They should be able to handle it as old as they are.Presently, it is expected because of this incident, Atkins may not be on the sidelines for Florida State football’s seasonal opener against Georgia Tech this year.
