Texas fans are as stoked as ever as the latest football season kicks in. As the Texas Longhorns gear up for their season opener against the Colorado State Rams this week, there’s a lot of buzz about whether the legendary Manning family will be in attendance to support their very own Arch Manning. Despite not seeing much game time last season, the star quarterback did not enter the transfer portal and decided to stay at Texas. Arch Manning is expected to get more time on the gridiron as a quarterback this season, as promised by coach Steve Sarkisian.
Arch Manning has been nothing except promising during the spring drills. Manning stole the limelight during the Longhorns’ annual Orange and White spring game in April where the quarterback threw for 355 yards and three touchdowns. Manning put on the White team jersey to join Texas starting quarterback Quinn Ewers, who only played two series. Manning went 19-for-26, out of which, at least four of those misses were right on target, bouncing off his receivers’ hands. But that’s not just it, as the quarterback had shown plenty, letting everyone know why is the right successor to Quinn Ewers. Manning dominated with five scoring drives that included a 75-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver DeAndre Moore on his first play from scrimmage. Such an impressive performance of the nephew of the NFL greats Eli and Peyton Manning only builds up more hype about whether the Mannings would be present to witness young Arch in action.
Arch and the Manning football dynasty
Arch Manning comes from what can only be called a proper football dynasty. The Manning family isn’t just any old football family as Arch’s family is practically synonymous with the sport. Peyton Manning, the Giants QB with a stack of MVP awards and a Super Bowl ring to his name, and Eli Manning, another Super Bowl champ and all-around gridiron great, have set the bar sky-high. And then of course, there’s Archie Manning, the patriarch, who was the star quarterback for the New Orleans Saints and is basically the Godfather of the Manning football empire. So, it’s needless to say that every game is a family affair for the Mannings, and this season opener for Arch is no exception. However, there has not been any official confirmation for the same yet. But it’s hard to imagine they’d miss it, right?
The fans got a taste of the Manning hype earlier this July when the Longhorns’ No. 2 QB surprised everyone by appearing in the EA College Football 2025 promotional campaign alongside his uncle legendary Eli Manning. The Giants quarterback was seen training his nephew Arch on the virtual gridiron via the latest EA Sports game. It’s needless to say the promotional video posted by Arch on his socials made the fans go crazy. “Yes, coach…uh, I mean, Uncle E,” Arch was found saying while following the instruction from his Super Bowl champ uncle. Arch ended the video with the “Hook ‘Em Horns” sign while saying, “EA Sports, I’m in the game.” As all the Longhorns’ fans await to see Peyton and Eli, probably wearing casual Texas Longhorns hats and cheering for their nephew, it’s needless to say that it’s gonna be an exciting season for Arch and the Mannings.
