We are just a few days away from the epic rematch of Super Bowl LVII. While the NFL fandom is all pumped up, the energy is running wild across all sports—from soccer to basketball. And it just brought some extra heat into the basketball world as the winningest NCAA coach, Geno Auriemma, has just dropped his Super Bowl prediction.

Watch What’s Trending Now!

In case you missed it, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs are officially locked in for Super Bowl LIX. The big game is set to take place on February 9 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, kicking off at 6:30 PM ET.

Amidst all the excitement, while most of the predictions seem to be favoring the Chiefs as they chase a historic three-peat, we’ve got some bold predictions coming in from UConn’s legendary coach. He didn’t hesitate to throw his support behind his team. His prediction is a 32-29 victory for the Philadelphia Eagles.

And honestly, no surprises there. Auriemma is a die-hard Eagles fan and has never shied away from showing it. But you know who won’t be thrilled with Auriemma’s take? None other than one of the biggest names in women’s basketball right now, Caitlin Clark.

The Indiana Fever guard is a lifelong Chiefs fan and isn’t shy about letting the world know it. She even attended Kansas City’s divisional playoff game and had a pretty unforgettable experience.

She was sitting next to Taylor Swift, chatting it up with the global pop icon. Yes, she basically lived every Swiftie’s dream. And if you didn’t already know, CC is a big “Swiftie” herself.

Just days after Clark’s dream fan moment, the Chiefs punched their ticket to the Super Bowl with another win over the Buffalo Bills. Meanwhile, the Eagles absolutely dominated the Washington Commanders to claim their Super Bowl spot.

And we’ve got ourselves a heated ‘revenge game’ on the way. Let’s see if the Chiefs become the first team in the Super Bowl era to win three consecutive championships or Eagles settle the score.

However, speaking of rivalries, Auriemma has a big one of his own coming up.

Geno Auriemma’s Huskies to face historic rival Lady Vols

One of the most legendary matchups in women’s college basketball is back after a one-year break. The No. 19 Tennessee Lady Vols (16-5, 4-5 ) are set to host No. 6 UConn (21-2, 12-0) at Food City Center on Thursday at 6:30 PM ET (ESPN).

This will be Tennessee coach Kim Caldwell’s first time leading the Lady Vols in this historic rivalry. While the meeting doesn’t carry the same weight it once did, it still remains a must-watch.

For now, UConn leads the all-time series 17-9 and has won the last four meetings since the rivalry was renewed in 2020. But Tennessee is no underdog. They carry a legacy like no other, thanks to the late, great Pat Summitt.

Tennessee still boasts the most wins in NCAA Division I history with a 1,487-390 program record. UConn isn’t far behind, sitting at No. 2 with a 1,325-326 record. But when it comes to NCAA titles, UConn reigns supreme with 11 championships.

So, in case you’re wondering how this epic rivalry even started, it all began on January 16, 1995. Tennessee was already a powerhouse with three national titles, while UConn was still hunting for its first. Both teams entered the game undefeated, with Tennessee ranked No. 1.

But UConn shocked the world with a 77-66 win and later went on to beat the Lady Vols in the national championship that same season. That set the tone for years of battles between the two programs.

From 1995 to 2007, the Lady Vols and Huskies faced off every single year, meeting in four national championship games—UConn won all four. It was then revived in 2020, and now, after a brief hiatus last year, it’s back once again.

So, who will come out on top this time? We’ll find out soon enough!
