Basketball insider Mike Rodak reported on his X handle that Aden was arrested this morning on a first-degree possession of a banned substance charge after a search of a residence by the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force. The Tuscaloosa police spokesperson has also confirmed the details.

Apparently, the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force searched a residence in the 400 block of 30th Avenue East on Monday morning and recovered more than a pound of m********a, paraphernalia, and cash. Holloway, 21, was charged with first-degree possession of m*******a and failure to affix a tax stamp, which would now make things complicated for the Alabama team.

Right after this, Holloway was escorted to Tuscaloosa County Jail on Monday morning, where his bond was set at $5,000.

This came right after Holloway was involved in a traffic stop last week by University of Alabama police, according to the Tuscaloosa police spokesperson.

The news of Holloway’s arrest spread quickly across social media, with fans offering a wide range of reactions to the developing situation.

Fans Give Their Honest Reaction To Aden Holloway’s Arrest

“Innocent until proven guilty,” said a fan who wanted to see how things pan out.

Jumping to conclusions never helps, and the fan believes that until the court gives an official statement on the matter. It would be better to refrain from circulating rumors about someone who is on the brink of greatness, especially when their future with the NBA might be jeopardized as a result of this.

Under Alabama law, first-degree possession of m********a is a Class C felony in the state, and if Aden Holloway gets convicted, there is a possibility of him facing up to 10 years in a state penitentiary and also paying a hefty $15,000 fine.

And that is what the fans have a problem with. “We demand his release immediately,” said another, wanting their star to be released as soon as possible. Fans obviously want to see their favorite player out and about and back to doing what he does best.

Losing Holloway would be a significant blow for a Crimson Tide team that has relied on his scoring punch all season. The sophomore guard averages 16.8 points per game and was instrumental in key wins, like his 21-point performance against Auburn.

However, one fan was quick to point the blame at coach Nate Oats rather than the player.

“What is Nate Oats teaching these kids?” he said, curious about the coach’s role behind this.

The fans’ opinion probably comes from the perspective of Oats’ controversial coaching period. Most notably, the Barandon Miller saga, where Oats allowed him to play despite his links to a m****r investigation, and for the fan, it raised questions about his accountability.

Most recently, in fact, Oats has been dealing with Charles Bediako’s drama, so he has been like a magnet to controversy, and that has followed him ever since.

“Good grief,” lamented another, seeing that Alabama has found no respite from the situation.

Notably, Holloway’s arrest comes a day after the Crimson Tide received a No. 4 seed in the NCAA tournament. The team is set to take on No. 13 Hofstra in the first round of the event on Friday, and now his presence on the roster seems unlikely. Though everything cannot be confirmed as of yet, it does, in fact, make the Alabama coach’s work quite difficult.
