NEW MEMBER! Kiki Bertens Jumps to New Venture of Life Following Her Retirement From Tennis

Dutch tennis player Kiki Bertens unfortunately announced her retirement from professional tennis in 2021. However, the Dutch former professional recently announced a positive development in her personal life. Kiki announced via Instagram that she is pregnant and ready to welcome a new member of her family.  

The retired Dutch player got married to physiotherapist Remko de Rijke on 30 November 2019. Kiki Bertens has been in a relationship with her husband for a long time. On November 2, 2018, Kiki posted on social media that she was engaged to Remko, along with a picture of the couple. Reportedly, Remko proposed to Kiki in Bali, Indonesia.

Kiki Bertens is expecting good news in April 2022

She put up a post with the caption, “big adventures start small. #babyiscoming.” The birth of her child is due in April next year. The couple posed in the picture on a beach and on the sand was written, “April 2022” enclosed in a heart.

It was only in June this year when the Dutch player decided to end her career. Her body was not cooperating and the Achilles’ injury was still continuing to hamper her progress.

Kiki has won 10 titles in her career and registered a career high singles ranking of World No. 4. She is by far the most successful Dutch player to ever play on the WTA tour. She bowed out of the sport after losing in the second round in the doubles at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Well, now that she has settled into life post tennis, we wish her the very best in all her endeavors in life. It will be an amazing moment when she becomes a mother later in April. It’s always wonderful to see players content in their lives post-retirement.
