The resolution of the technology under Microsoft’s testing has not been revealed yet. But the sources disclosed the team is as of now testing on Xbox One S server blades for its existing xCloud infrastructure. Therefore, we can assume that full 4k resolution will not be available for immediate launch. The backend hardware needs to be upgraded to Xbox Series X components to support 4K.

Additional information about the Xbox feature
Microsoft is allegedly hoping to run the web version on Windows 10. Microsoft will limit the service to Chromium browsers like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge at the public review. Microsoft could not support Apple devices when they launched xCloud in Android Beta the previous year. Microsoft claimed Apple did not allow the launch because they had to submit individual games for review first.
