NASCAR Legend Richard Petty Pictured With Washington Football Team Superstar After His Team Was Sold

NASCAR legend Richard Petty was recently seen at an NFL game. Petty, who recently sold his team, Richard Petty Motorsports, was in attendance of the game between Las Vegas Raiders and the Washington Football team.

The Twitter account of the Richard Petty Motorsports posted a picture of The King chatting with Raiders’ quarterback, Ryan Fitzpatrick. Petty’s visit comes after his team, RPM’s majority stake was sold to GMS Racing owned by Allegiant Airlines.

Allegiant is the same company that also sponsors Raider’s stadium, Allegiant Arena.

The game between the Raiders & the Football Team

At their home turf, Las Vegas Raiders lost the game to Washington with a final score-line of 15-17. This was another defeat at home for the Raiders after their comeback against Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day.

The Washington Football Team scored the winning goal with 37 seconds remaining, making the defeat all the more crushing for Raiders. And this defeat now means that a win has evaded the Raiders in four of their last five games. According to

The Raiders have lost four of their past five games after starting 5-2. They probably need to go 4-1 the rest of the way to make the playoffs with their next game being away to Kansas City Chiefs next Sunday.

It was recently announced that GMS Racing bought a majority or controlling share in RPM. In this deal that is worth $19.1 million, the two Cup Series charters of RPM will now be owned by GMS.

“Richard Petty Motorsports has agreed to sell a majority interest to Maury Gallagher, owner of GMS Racing,” the joint statement said.

However, it was reported by insider Bob Pockrass that car No.43 would race under the RPM banner. He wrote on his Twitter, “Would think the 43 remains branded as Richard Petty Motorsports. That is part of the value.”

It’ll be interesting to see what the specifics of this deal are, as they will be announced on Tuesday.
