The final decision on when and how the NBA will resume could be taken on Thursday. ESPN reported that the NBA is planning a vote on Thursday with the league’s board of governors.

The NBA has been looking at various scenarios to restart the league for the last few weeks. All the games will most likely take place at a single place with all the players quarantined there. Disney World was among the possible locations that came out.

There could be a major format change in the playoffs format while it remains to be seen whether there would be any regular-season games. A few days back, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the NBA has discussed four scenarios for the remainder of the season.

Among the scenarios were- 16 teams directly playing the post season, 20 teams returning with a group stage followed by playoffs, 22 teams returning for the regular season along with a play-in tournament, and all 30 teams returning for a complete 72-game regular season along with a play-in tournament for the post season.

According to ESPN’s reports, Thursday might the day when we get to know how the remaining games would pan out.

Michael Jordan, for one, seems to be against bringing in all the teams to complete the regular season. He said it didn’t make sense to risk players’ health for “meaningless games.”

ESPN’s reports also suggested that the possibility of all 30 teams returning seems is highly unlikely. But it remained open to either 20 or 22 teams returning to compete.

Talking about the resumption scenarios, NBA analyst Brian Windhorst recently made a bold claim saying the NBA wants to include Zion Williamson when the league resumes.

“I’ll tell you one thing: that scenario gets Zion Williamson in,” Windhorst said on The Hoop Collective. “Look, I’ve just heard… I’m not saying the NBA is going this route. I’m just saying I’ve already heard this scenario that no matter what happens, the cutoff line will be the Pelicans. They’ll be in. It will be the first time in the history of the NBA that the league kicked the ball into the fairway for New Orleans.”
