Not long after the New York Knicks underwent a change at the top level, they are now linked with a move for Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker.  Leon Rose recently became the team president, and many expect him to make a few changes.

Booker, 23, was formerly a client of Rose. Rose was previously an agent who has represented some big names including LeBron James and Allen Iverson. Booker was among the names that came out when Marc Berman of The New York Post was assessing a few trade options for the Knicks under Rose. He called Booker “the player to watch out for most”, citing league sources.

To make it more convincing, Booker has recently spoken out, praising Rose.

“I think he’ll do unbelievable,’’ Booker said of Rose as per New York Post. “One of the most genuine guys I know. One of the most honest guys I know. So I’m happy for him in his new position. I think the Knicks are in really good hands.’’

Booker is currently in his fifth year in the NBA. He earned his first All-Star selection earlier this year and could be a good addition to the Knicks.

Leon Rose looking for a few changes at New York Knicks

The Knicks have been among the bottom teams in the league for the last years. They desperately need a few changes to become more competitive. The first time Rose spoke out publicly after becoming the team president, it was about bringing in a new coach.

“We’re looking at a lot of different people with a lot of different mindsets, philosophies,” Rose told Mike Breen of MSG Network a few days back (H/T ESPN). “And for me personally, this is educational, and I need to make sure that we go through this process and we dot every ‘I’ and cross every ‘T’ in order to make the right decision.”

Rose said he wanted someone who could develop young players and make a good team.

“We want to find the right leader that can develop our young players as well as hold everyone accountable. And take us from development to becoming a perennial winner,” he said.
