The current NBA season is on a standstill at the moment. Players are quarantined at their homes and nothing is happening until the end of June or maybe even July. The Chicago Bulls aren’t having a great season at the moment as they stand 11th in the Eastern conference table just two spots above of the last-placed team. They have been enduring a bitter run these past few years and it is noted that they need a change.

The Finnish player is in his third year with the team and had averaged 18.7 points per game last season. This season he is currently averaging only 14.7 PPG, which is worse than his rookie season where he averaged 15.2.

As a player, you definitely wouldn’t want your performance to be on the decline and would start looking for other options if things aren’t working out. Markkanen is reportedly looking for a team that has the caliber of winning championships. His main sight would be on the Los Angeles Lakers.

The 22-year-old was already linked to the Lakers last season in return for their forward Kyle Kuzma. However, the trade never went through as both teams didn’t keep their foot forward. This year could be Markkanen’s last one with the Bulls as he would also be looking at other options too.

The Bulls Looking for A Change?

The Bulls have also been looking for a change in their front office it has been reported. Adrian Wojnarowski mentioned this in his podcast where he was joined by ESPN’s front office insider, Bobby Marks. They stated that the bulls are indeed looking for a change in their front office and listed the Toronto Raptors GM Bobby Webster as a potential candidate.

Should this happen before the season resumes, there could be a change in the way the team operates entirely and Markkanen could be convinced to stay and sign an extension with them.

However nothing is confirmed as of now, and things could end up either way for the club.
