Patrick Mahomes is at the zenith of his career with another Super Bowl ring in the bag. And while comparisons to the great Tom Brady are inevitable, Mahomes stayed humble. Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spilled the beans!

Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady played against each other on six different occasions. Even though the score was tied at 3-3, Brady won the more important games. But Reid highlights Brady’s reportedly chosen heir apparent.

After the Super Bowl win, Mahomes commented on the comparisons with Brady. He said, “To me, it will always be tough because Brady beat me in the Super Bowl.” Brady defeated the Chiefs when he was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the 2021 Super Bowl. 

But HC Reid opened up about the AFC Championship game 2019 when Mahomes and the Chiefs lost to Brady, then with the New England Patriots. Brady came to the Chiefs’ locker room to talk to Mahomes.

“I was there when Tom Brady said I’m turning the keys over to you. He did it right in our locker room. And so I think Tom is as proud as anybody,” said the head coach. With Brady’s blessings and his skills, Mahomes is achieving all that has been promised! Mahomes also broke one of Brady’s records last night!

At 28 years and 147 days, Mahomes became the youngest quarterback to start four Super Bowls. Tom Brady previously held this record, beginning his fourth SB at 30 years and 184 days old.

The game against the San Francisco 49ers proved that Mahomes has the skill and tenacity to get ahead of Brady and that time is in his favor. Winning the Super Bowl MVP for the third time, he is inching closer to Brady’s five.
