Tom Brady and Bill Belichick created magic for 20 years with the New England Patriots. There were rumors, however, of the duo not seeing eye-to-eye during the last few years of their time together. Brady has repeatedly defended his former coach, and his loyalty still stands tall for Belichick.

As the talks of Belichick being removed from the top job at the Patriots pick up pace, it’s worth remembering his best time there. And Brady can lift the spirits of the Patriots fans and Belichick himself.

Brady joined the Patriots in the 2000 NFL Draft, the same year Belichick took the reins of head coaching. Together, they took the Patriots to nine Super Bowls and won six. The duo had trials, controversies, and tough losses, but Brady still looks up to him.

“I think he’s (Belichick) an incredible coach. He’s the best coach, in my belief, in the history of the game,” said Brady while the Patriots performed poorly and Belichick was under immense pressure. The 7X Super Bowl winner also gutted the talks of Brady and Belichick being at each other’s throats.

Several candidates have been reported to be in line for Belichick’s job in the past months. Neither Belichick nor the owner, Robert Kraft, has suggested that the 71-year-old is moving on. But the pair have also not confirmed that Belichick will stay with the Patriots.

With another loss at the hands of divisional rivals, the New York Jets, in the last game of the season, Belichick’s chances look slim. He has been great for the Patriots and the NFL, but his present results speak volumes about his outdated approach to the game.
