“That’s Not My Thing”: Saquon Barkley Comments on Shaquille O’Neal’s DJ Style on New Heights

Saquon Barkley has been facing a lot of flak recently for moving from the New York Giants to bitter divisional rivals the Philadelphia Eagles. However, the running back recently revealed his fun side of DJing. Though he’d from the outset want to make things clear, he isn’t like the NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal.

The former 4X NBA Champion Shaq under the stage name of DJ Diesel has been performing since his college days. And Barkley picked up the art of DJing at his college as well. However, according to Barkley, this is where the similarities end. What does Barkley mean by this?

On the latest episode of the ‘New Heights’ podcast, hosted by the brothers Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce. The duo was joined by a guest, namely Barkley. And during the discussion of college times, Barkley revealed that he was into DJing. “It was crazy”, said Barkley on the rush he got from performing for the crowds at Penn State University.

“I might actually like try this for real like just like Shaq”, said Barkley. And the host Travis wanted to enquire more about his passion. But Barkley stopped the Kansas City Chiefs man in his tracks before laying out the differences between him and the former Los Angeles Lakers man.

“He’s dub house though”, said Travis talking about the genres of music, Shaq likes to indulge in. “That’s not my thing like that is not my thing! More like rap and then you know I’ll throw a little country in there”, said Barkley making the clarification. And the 2X Pro Bowler has had to clarify a lot of things since joining the Eagles.

With his shocking move to the Eagles, Barkley inserted himself in one of the oldest rivalries in the NFL. A rivalry that predates all of us, as it began in the 1930’s and has continued strong ever since. Though many players over the decades have switched sides, Barkley’s comments have landed him in hot water more than once.

The speedy RB has been advised by the 7X Pro Bowler Jason Kelce to ignore the comments and criticisms and “take the high road”.
